GTY Rooms

Sonya .... what happened was ... we booked three Cat. 4 rooms, at the time of booking, no room assignments were left. This means that all Cat. 4 rooms, at that time, were assigned. DCL usually can count on x amount of reservations to be cancelled, therefore they accept reservations with this in mind. Thus, we were given GTY rooms, meaning we will receive Category 4 rooms guaranteed, with the possibility of being bumped up to a 3 if no 4's are available. This is the way it was explained to me -- hope it is correct.

DisneyPoly - contact your TA at DU and have them look it up for you. This is what I did. I'm relieved to know that I've got a room and that it isn't a terrible location, either. Maybe you won't have all 4 assignments, but hopefully you'll get at least one!

Did this for our last cruise and found out we were upgraded on cruise docs, only to find we were bumped back down at check in. Then to make matters worse, we were bumped into a handicapped room. And our luggage was mis-routed to the cabin # listed on our cruise docs. Not a good experience.

When you have simply a GTY, yes, you have the "chance" for an upgrade, but you also have the "chance" of getting stuck with a room no one else requested.

This time, I requested a specific room so that wouldn't happen again (hopefully).
