Grumpy and his wife and possibly the DIS Food Porn Queen are going to Disney

Ooo, I am so excited to hear another person who likes Plaza--I am really looking forward to trying it on our trip! Which dessert do you like best? What a beautiful thing for you to do by carrying on your dad's tradition!

Sorry for being a bit late, but

party: Hooray for Double Digits!! party:

The condo looks really lovely! What a nice thing for his family to share with you. :goodvibes

Hey Kathy, just checking in

Hope you're both having a good weekend :goodvibes

All caught up again, Kathy! Only two more weeks of school and then I will finally be able to keep up with the pre-trippies I am subscribed to!

Hope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend!

We love The Plaza. My favorite is the hot fudge sundae -- MINUS the whip cream (not a lover of whip cream); Mark loves the banana split when he has the room for it. Thanks...it makes it feel like dad is there with me when I give the balloon away.

Thanks, Stefy. Mark just went to ump four baseball games and he has four tomorrow; however, they are predicting RAIN again. I hope not...we can't afford for him to lose another weekend of pay. :sad2:

Hope you have a great weekend too.

You guys are still in school? That's a long year. When do you start the school year?

Markie and I will be going to a graduation party for the daughters of his high school coach this afternoon.

I'm not going to have time for an update today more than likely. But I'll share a few pics here. Mark and I went to Shelley and Tom's last night (our best friends) and other friends of ours that we have not seen in 20 years came as well. We used to all hang out together at the bar where I worked as a waitress (Mark also ended up working there...I got him a job). It was a disco and we had the best of times back then. In fact, Shelley is having a Disco Halloween Party this year so I have to start looking for some "disco" clothes. Okay, here are couple of photos:

Louie and Sue (Louie was our "Disco John Travolta")

Shelley cooked buffalo burgers on the grill (they were REALLY good) and we all brought salads, etc. We had a great night talking about the old days.

Looks like you had a great night :) Always nice to reminisce about good times with friends :goodvibes

Sounds like a fun night! We have two couples that we get together with every couple of months - can't beat a night spent with good friends!

What fun evening, Kathy! Glad you enjoyed yourselves. :)

Count me in as another one who loves The Plaza - it's a tradition to eat there every trip, so will miss it in December. My friends like meals more than sandwichs style TS so will go with those for this trip..but will sure miss the Plaza as we walk by... ;)

Thanks, everyone. Yes, it was a great night. We hadn't seen Sue and Louie in over 20 years and you wouldn't know it...same old great time as we always had.

I had planned on doing an update today but I've been depressed. Not onloy did we have to buy a new computer (ours has crashed three ties in the last six months), today our oven went out and so did our lawn mower. So after $600 for the laptop and now another $1000+ for a new stove/oven and lawn mower, if one more minute thing goes wrong, we will have to cancel the Disney portion of our trip (and to top it all off, it POURED this morning and all games were cancelled...so Mark lost another five baseball games--so far with all the rain we have had he has lost over $800 in pay).

I imagine we'll be getting to do the same thing with our closest friends VERY soon!! Nothing better than a hanging out with those you love best!!

Uggggg, when it rains, it pours! Fingers crossed for you that nothing else breaks or goes wrong!

Hey Kathy!

I'm back... jumping in with both feet!! :goodvibes

The craziness is over and my DIS time should be picking up. I have to finish my TR and start a new PTR (I hope) We still haven't heard any word from MAW yet and I'm getting antsy. I can be planning our trip (ADRs, MVMCP) but have no clue if our dates were/are even approved.

Congrats to your Blackhawks! I thought of you when they won.

I was trying to convince Mel that we should go to WDW sometime in September because I found some awesome rates on travelocity, but she doesn't have the vacation time. :confused3

I hope everything is well with you, Mark, and the boys(not really boys anymore huh? LOLOL) I'm looking forward to spending a lot more time back here on the DIS. :goodvibes:goodvibes

NO! I'm sorry, Kathy. It is so true...why does it seem like these things always happen all at once? I'm sure everything will work out, though. Sending you good thoughts...:goodvibes

Let's get the yucky stuff over with......I am so sorry to hear about the computer, oven, lawnmower and Mark having to miss games because of the rain. You know I've had that same sort of luck and can certainly sympathize with you. Not to make light but it really is true....when it rains it pours!:guilty:

Now, to the good stuff. It sounds like ya'll had a fabulous time at your get-together. You know that you are truly best friends when you can go 20 yeas without seeing each other but then pick right up where you left off. I love those kinds of friends.

I will be so happy when you are BACK in the US. And I'm glad your hand is a little better.

If it does, I'm jumping off the nearest bridge. ;) Seriously, I hate when everything goes at once.

God, I've missed you. It's so good to have you back. Thanks for the congrats on my Blackhawks. Several drinks were involved. ;)

You should...you should go the weekend we are there (assuming we don't have to cancel with all of our breakdowns the last couple of weeks). What a blast that would be! We'd even take Juliana one night so you and Mel could do your own thing.

Mark and the boys are fine. Mark has one more weekend of umpping--this weekend is the last of it as he has his surgery on July 14. Andy just got home from Michigan (his team did not play in a tournament this weekend, so he drove to Michigan and ran a tournament that his company handles) and Markie is in Utah for the youth wrestling Nationals--they drove 23 hours yesterday to get there.

All at once; all expensive. All very aggravating.

Thanks, Lisa. Mark called today and they charge $125 to just walk in the door to look at it; they'll apply it to the repairs, but who knows what that will be. I think we'd be better off buying a new one and a better brand.

Those are the best kind of friends for sure. I think I found my "Disco" outfit for the Halloween Party--if they have my size.

:sad1:Best of Luck!!! We'll keep you guys in our prayers!

Thanks, Kellybelly. I appreciate it.

 Kathy, that's a shame that all those things need to be replaced and that all the games were cancelled! :sad2:

We have a "saying" here that all bad things (like broken washing machines, lawn mowers and car repairs - like it happened to us 2 years ago, right before we went on vacation!) happen in "threes", so lets hope this goes for the US as well and that you are "done" with those three replacements! :goodvibes

Oh, and since you asked - YES, I am still in school for another two weeks, well, 9 work days :lmao: - we stop :woohoo: on July 9 (just mass and handing out the report cards and than I am off to celebrate - get the champaigne ready! :rotfl2:) and go back to school on Sept 13! 9 week of pupil free bliss! We do NOT have summer school or anything, so I am officially on holiday for 9 weeks! We get another 4 1/2 weeks during the year and about 8 public holidays, so I guess we have enough time off. ;)
But nevertheless, I can't wait for it to start!! :rolleyes1 :yay:

Our youngest, Markie, has been to more places than his mom and dad combined. He left yesterday for a 23+ hour drive to Orem, Utah, where he is coaching the youth wrestlers who qualified for Nationals. He sent me this picture via his Iphone; it is him and his very good friend, Joe (Joe is four years older than him; Joe will be getting married in the next year or two--once he and his fiance find full time teaching jobs, and Markie will be his best man).

Awwww thanks!!! It's good to be back, although I don't know where to start! LOL

As much as I want to go, I don't think it is going to happen. How nice of you to offer to babysit!

One thing I know about your life.... there is never a dull moment! LOL

BTW... how is your brother doing?
