I am so happy to hear that Mark's surgery went well. I've been thinking of you both. I know it's a relief when it's finally over.

Thanks, Sophia. The pain that was the reason for the surgery (in his neck, upper back and shoulder and down his arm) is GONE! His neck is still swollen and he is still having trouble swallowing. I made smoked butt, carrots and potatos and he was able to eat some meat, and he smashed the potatos and carrots.

Sorry I have been MIA. I am glad that everything went well with the surgery and that Mark is recovering nicely. Hope you are doing ok too and that that horrible cold has gone.

Thanks for the pixie dust and love, Stefy (from me and Mark!). My cold is MUCH better today...I actually feel human today. The cough syrup with the coedine in it really knocked me out last night and I've taken a dose today and will take another when I go to bed.

Mark is feeling better as I said. We will see how he feels tomorrow night and we may go to Brookfield Zoo on Monday (we're both off until Wednesday, although Mark may take the whole week off).

Back from vacation. So happy that it went well and the pain is gone. That was a great smiley pic! Glad ur cold is also better. I am home with a sick 6 yr old-you know they are sick when on vacation with buddies at the beach they just lay on the couch. Hope you make it to the zoo!

Welcome back; so sorry to hear that your sweet little girl is sick...that's no fun under any circumstances, but on vacation --

I hope we can go to the zoo too -- it's supposed to be 89 degrees -- but I think if we go right when it opens we would be okay; it will depend on how much pain Mark is in.

I think we should be okay to go. We'll go when it first opens at 9:30 before it gets unbearably hot (it's going to be 87 tomorrow). They have a new bear exhibit that we are dying to see.

Okay, first a little update on Mark and his angioplasty. He was going to wait until AFTER his business trip to Las Vegas in August which means he'd have the procedure done somewhere around the latter part of the second week or the third week of August. I talked to his boss and he said that as much as he'd miss Mark being in Vegas, that he wanted him healthy and I should talk to him about doing it sooner (Andy is going to set up the show and has written orders in prior years and can do it for his dad). I think I've almost convinced Mark to skip the Vegas show and get this procedure done now so that he is 100% by the time of our trip to Florida.

When I last updated, we had covered Saturday, September 25. So that brings us to Sunday, September 26. I think this will be another day out for breakfast and we'll probably go here:

And it might be a good day to look for some of the friends we met last year:

Not sure what we will do about dinner. I think if it works with Nic and Todd's schedule that we'd like to have dinner with them tomorrow night (Monday) prior to our flying home on Tuesday. So that would leave us a couple of options of places we went last year which included Kokomo's, Capt. Brien's or the Snook Inn -- all of which are on Marco Island.

Whatever Mark decides on when he has his operation done I am keeping my fingers crossed for both of you that it works out just the way you want it and that he gets into perfect health until your Florida trip (and this is the time I wish this weren't a foreign language to me and I could explain myself better!)

Thanks for posting those photos - the beach looks amazing and the wildlife!! Oh WOW!!! No wonder you love it there so much!

I am so glad that cough syrup helped you sleep that's what you need the most when you are sick but sometimes its almost impossible to accomplish!
