Now I realise that people love fp+ and I am sure it won't be that bad when we get there but....

it has ruined all spontaneity of our trip.

While I am generalising a bit I am not sure it affects those who do shorter trips as they generally have 4-5-6 days easy to plan a day at each. 14 days of having to decide where you want to be each day in advance is a pain in the ....

We are in the fortunate position of having a child too small so at least the boys can ride twice and we can separate the fast pass so that Ariana at least gets to ride something else via the fast pass while we wait for the boys so I can't moan about that, but I will moan about the restriction of only one fp selection per ride. At DHS there is beggar all to ride and then to restrict it arrrrrrrggggg

So my first day opens up tomorrow as it is Ariana's birthday our first day in the park we have decided to fast pass. One of the perks of offsite (well to me anyway) is that I can only do one a day as each day opens up so thus giving me time to work on the next days choices that evening.

We are driving up from Jupiter hope to get there for opening, doing fantasyland then lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table walking over to ride undersea or barnstormer then catching the train out to the front and home to check into our villa.

Anyway that is just my wee vent sorry to ramble on.

On the plus side I am excited to be heading to Florida soon.

We have just used FP+ for the second time.

We did not pre-book in advance this time and rode everything we wanted.

As long as you have the smartphone app and don't try and use the kiosk you will be fine.

How did you find it for getting the times you wanted.

The way we tour is that we arrive for opening and then leave about 2.30/3.00 and we don't return we spend time at the villa swimming or shopping etc and the kids get a normal bedtime so are able to do the rope drop.

My fear is that the times we want for the "good" rides will be gone and late afternoon and evening will be all that will be available if I don't book in advance.

I noticed on my trial go for TSM lunch time ones weren't there basically nothing from 12.30 through to 3.30.

As an experiment, I just went in to MDE and was only able to get FP for Toy Story Mania for between 7.15pm and 8.15pm today.

Having said that, it is now 12.30pm AND Good Friday so one of the busiest days. The very fact that I was able to get a FP at all is something I was not expecting. Under the old system, you would NOT have been able to still get a FP for Toy Story Mania at 12.30 in the afternoon.

For tomorrow, I was given the option to get TSM for 11-12 or 1.50-2.50. Don't forget that, once you have booked, you can go back in and adjust individual FP+ to a time that suits you better.

I think even if you decided the night before which park you were going to the next day, you would have no problem getting the FP+ reservations you wanted at times to suit.

When we go to Disney, usually a couple of times a year, we only go to parks one day. We have a 10 day park hopper that never expires. Got it a few years ago, not sure if they still sell them. But we have 5 days left, because we like the resorts much better than the parks. We like to do several parks in a day, hitting all the big rides. We were very disappointed in march when we first experienced the new system to find out we could only do fast passes at one park a day. Makes no sense to me. Why even buy a park hopper? I did send a complaint and got back a reply stating thst Disney was looking into making some changes for those who do park hop. It's also hard for a family like us to plan ahead to reserve FP in advance because we never decide what day we will go to the parks until we get to the resort.
