GRRRR Disney Renovations!!!

Just found out that Big Thunder Mountain is going to be closed for renovations during our trip! Wouldn't bother me so much except that it's my little brother's FAVORITE ride! This is the protective older sister kicking in.

Also, POTC will be finished about 3 weeks after we leave... ...bad timing.

So, anything going to be down that you are upset about? Or has been? Or anything to share related to this story?

Is this in WDW or DLR? I am going to WDW this week and that is one of my most favorite rides. This also stinks with the POTC as this will probably be our last trip for some time. Though I have suggested to my parents that my graduation gift in two years can be a Disney Cruise.

Thunder was being renovated from the day we arrived and re-opened the day after we left when we went in October 03, my nan was the only one happy about it. POC was closed for renovavtions on the same trip but it opened three days after we arrived. i think.

I just checked if anything will be closed during Augest and only Liberty Tree River Boat will be closed, Body wars, the making of me, and something else in Epcot. Which is fine for me

The rides need the refurbishment. It is really sad to see a ride that is old and worn out looking. I am glad when the refurbish the rides, because I know that the next time I go it will be working to its full and look nice(well perhaps not Test Track, 2 months down back in Feb and March and some of the stuff still doesn't work!) But other then that they are usually good. Sorry that it has to happen during your trip tho.

If Test Track is closed I will be devastated...it is my MOST favorite ride in ALL four parks.

Also, I know refurbishing is important, but this will probably be our LAST trip for a LONG time because of having to pay for college so.... ...can you blame me for being a lil "I want everything to be perfect" -ish?

Not at all! I sooo understand where you're coming from. In our Jan. trip Buzz Lightyear was closed (my bro's and mom's fav ride) and then this last trip just a week ago, POTC was-and still is- closed! And the time in Jan. as well, Typhoon Lagoon was closed! AAhh! We just can't catch a break!

Hey ! when we went typhoon lagoon was closed ,not just one ride ! lol ! it really annoyed me because i was looking forward to the 6 ft waves !!

Pirates will be closed till I believe June (if it's the same as DL it will open June 26th) when the new movie comes out a little after. Along with this opening around the same time VMK will have 2 new quests to do at the parks, they will bring back the old pirate quest.
