Grown Children on Disney Cruise?

I am currently 22 and my BF is 23. We are joining my parents on a 7 day cruise to Alaska this summer. I am a huge Disney fan but my boyfriend isn't all about Disney like I am. However, he is still very excited. We are both outdoorsy people and love to go exploring. It also helps that there are some good breweries in AK! I think the fact that there will be less children on this cruise is also really nice, we don't hate kids but its nice to not constantly be around them. 7 days is probably good for us, we are both in school and work part time.

We have a 27, 22 and a 20 year old. Think they will enjoy? Any particular cruise and length of time recommended?

We have been on 10 Disney cruises, started when my daughter was 9 and the last one she was 28 -- she loves their ships, sitting in the porthole windows and reading around the ship, etc. She loves the fact she can now do all things adult and enjoyed the adult comedy shows and being able to go to the adult beach on CC. There are still come characters she will get in line for pics (Frozen, Mulan and anything Marvel). So I would say they'll have fun -- plus the new slide is amazing according to my now adult daughter!

Hmm, it really depends on their tastes. Of course there are plenty of adult offerings on the ships but do they enjoy Disney? Did they grow up watching the films like my girlfriend and I did? We are 29 and 26 years old and we love cruising with Disney because of the immersion of Disney whilst cruising at the same time.

But, I do have friends that think we're crazy for having annual passes to Disneyland and wanting to go on more Disney cruises. They don't affiliate Disney with being "cool" which is fine, to each their own. Cruising with Disney would definitely not be for them, they would be annoyed seeing Goofy walk by, or Disney movies playing on all the channels in the state room.

If they are Disney fans then they would definitely enjoy the cruise, if they neither like nor dislike Disney then it will be a toss up. Lastly if they are annoyed by Disney movies then no, they wont have a good time on the ship :P

We just booked our 4th DCL cruise with our daughters ages - 29 and 25 at the time of cruising. Waiting now to see if our daughters boyfriend will be joining us. Our girls love Disney cruises - there are plenty of adult only spaces and activities that they don't feel like it is just for children

I went on my first Disney Cruise when I was 23, one when I was 24, and then another one this year. I always travel with my mom and my aunt who are in their early and late 50's. I don't think any of us ever feel "too old" or that we don't belong in different situations. We do like to do everything on the ship as a family, so we will go to trivia, to the bars/lounges to hear live music, or the pool together. But don't get us wrong, we're still almost first in line when the doors open for the shows, we get to the atrium early when there are small performances that we want to see, and we love the deck parties. Sometimes I think that the whole experience for us is just as magical for us as it is for the little kiddos in line to meet the characters. Anyway...like others have said, definitely poll the group and see what they want to do and what they want out of the cruise. And remember, too, that y'all can make the cruise whatever you want and get whatever experience out of it that you want. I would agree with some of the others that a longer cruise (more than 3 nights) is better. I've been on one 3 night and one 5 night and I don't think we'll ever sail less than 5 again...that length/cost is just the right fit for my family.

I'm 24 and my husband is 26 and we would LOVE going on a family Disney cruise with our parents! If you share rooms, maybe 3 or 4 nights. If you and your children have separate rooms, 7 would work great!

We were in Juneau about 20 years ago and toured a fledgling brewery, Alaskan Brewing Company. We enjoyed the tasting of maybe 5 kinds of beer they offered, bought the t-shirts, and said we would be back. We will be there in June and hope to see how much it has grown. Now it offers multiple kinds of beers and exports to not just the West Coast, but to 15 happy states. I would recommend you check it out, buy the hoodie or tap handle, and sample some brews. They are located at 5429 Shaune Dr. and have a great web site.
