Has anyone used DVC points to stay at the Grove Park? If so, what time of the year and what was your experiece? We are thinking of going the week after Easter. Thanks and have a great Thanksgiving Day to all DVC members and families!!!!! :yay: :rotfl2:

We stayed there using DVC points two nights a few years ago. We had a wonderful room and truly enjoyed the resort.

We were there in November and while the temperature was cool in the evening, we were still able to dine on the verandah (they had those large propane patio heaters) and the dinner was excellent. The lobby is really fun with a huge fireplace that serves as a gathering place each evening.

We'd go back there in a minute. :)

Enjoy!

Doc: Thanks for the quick reply. Oh, what would the golfing weather be around mid-April? Thanks Have a great Bird Day!!!

We've stayed there many times over the last 20 years and just love the place. We've never used our points. They have wonderful food in the restaurants.. be sure to try the buffets. The rooms in the wings are bigger and nicer than the ones in the older main building.

Asheville is a very neat city with some great places to explore downtown. There are wonderful little places to eat there, too. The Biltmore House is always interesting.

As far as time of year, we've been there almost every month of the year. Spring and fall are just beautiful in the mountains. Easter would be an excellent choice. I would book it asap.

We live in NC and went there for a graduation present from my DH to me. We did a couples massage and were able to use all of the spa extras. It was a very relaxing and very memorable trip. Gorgeous views any time of year. We did not use our points b/k we were not DVC members at the time. You will have a wonderful time. Very romantic!! Just don't get lost like I did trying to find the room. My husband went to park and I said I would meet him at the room. The elevators go down instead of up (I think that is what it was) but I got lost anyway. We had a good laugh over it.
The beds are so comfortable. The most comfortable I have ever experienced at a hotel. Have a great time!
