Groundhog Day at Walt Disney World - New 5/2 - pg. 20 - 3 Updates/new PTR link

What a fun dinner, does Remy move around and talk? I think I heard about that before but don't remember much about it.

Love the tigger and pooh pictures, too cute.

The walk to Epcot was awesome & I can’t wait to do it again! Dinner was in France but we headed to Morocco first to get the boys’ passports stamped. But first we stopped for a photpass picture:
bd4c60e6.jpg

I love this picture of you guys great :thumbsup2 Tim has a great smile too...was someone making him laugh?

After dinner we saw another photopass photographer:
73e45ffd.jpg

another wonderful picture of the two boys...more great smiles!

and I love the photos from AK of Zach's visit to Rafiki's animal watch or whatever it's called....he really seemed to enjoy himself a ton. Bekah loved going there too in 09...and that is a Dad pix of Zach holding his nose under the rhino cut out

I don't think I could do Dinosaur 3 times in a row!! Once a trip is enough for me!:rotfl: Did you enjoy Chefs? I have had ADRs there a few times but always end up changing them. I am going to make it there in September though. The mac and cheese there looks so good!:thumbsup2

Isn't parking at Beach Club and walking into Epcot that way just the best??? We did it twice on the last trip, and I fell in love with it! Of course, Connor did not like that I "fibbed." :rotfl:

Wishing you good luck on switching over to Beach Club this morning!

I love that back entrance! :thumbsup2

More on the DVC villa coming up...

I'm at work so I cannot see your pics but will check them out at lunch.

Good luck with Beach Club!! I sooooooo LOVE it there.:cloud9:

I will so miss our walks through IG this year.

Thanks Doreen! I loved staying at BWI with Laura last fall - I can't wait to stay in that area again!!

Love the tigger and pooh pictures, too cute.

Remy stays on the tray, but he moved around a little and squeaks. He's very cute!

We always have good luck with running into Tigger & Pooh in the UK. pooh: :tigger:

The boys' silly grins in their PP make me smile. :) I hope you get good news on BCV today!

They were acting pretty crazy during those photos!

I love this picture of you guys great :thumbsup2 Tim has a great smile too...was someone making him laugh?

Thanks Julie!

I'm sure the kids did something silly to make him laugh!

Zach likes to explore & appreciates the details. Unfortunately Alex isn't the same way. Don't tell Alex, but I'd love to take a trip with just Zach sometime. Not that I'd ever do that to Alex! He'd be crushed!

Chef's was good - for some reason Tim didn't love it, but I'd definitely eat there again.

Update of odds & ends coming up soon!

First of all, we did't get the Beach Club! :sad2: Which I'm totally fine with... We may still get it but even if we don't, we are still booked at BWV... not a bad back up choice! We're on the wait list for BCV so only time will tell. The only think I don't like is not knowing for sure.

I also owe you a couple restaurant reviews! I finally found Zach's dining review book:

660aae92.jpg

He really enjoyed writing his reviews, even though he only did two! We taked about what he was going to write for each restaurant but he never got the rest of them in his book. This is definitely something we'll do again. Now for his reviews:

Chef Mickey's - Dinner got a 5 out of 5 Mickey Heads :thumbsup2 Dessert got 3 out of 5... I'm not sure why. :confused3 Noise factor: Sheriff Woody (noisy) What he liked: "I likt it bekus it had a bufaye." :goodvibes

Teppan Edo - Dinner got a 5 out of 5 Mickey Heads :thumbsup2 Dessert (which was actually at Kaki Gori) got a 5 out of 5 :thumbsup2 Noise factor: Jaq & Gus (quiet) What he liked: "The gie (guy) kookt in frunt uf me." :goodvibes

I hope to have more of Zachary's dining reviews to share on future trips.

The other item I owe you is a look at our RnRC picture - but for some reason I can't get it to scan right so you'll have to keep waiting. Sorry!

So what have we been up to lately?

Alex was Abe Lincoln in the school wax museum last week:

The boys both had art displayed in the area children's art exhibit in the next town over:

And Zach's piece submitted by his art school:

Also, DBIL, Jeff, is in town this weekend to take Tim to the Red Sox/Yankees game in Boston today. Jeff's girlfriend, Karen, gave them the tickets for Christmas. Obviously they are brothers and even though they are 8 years apart, they were raised together, in the same house in Connecticut. Yet Tim is a Yankees fan & Jeff is a Red Sox fan... go figure!

That's about all! Back to the usual updates soon!

Alex is a great Abe Lincoln!!

Great art work for both of them:thumbsup2.

Wow that is great that Alex won all four of his races!!:yay:

Well I guess Tim was happy with the game today huh??;)

Bummer about Beach Club -- hopefully your wait list will come through!

Love Zach's restaurant reviews -- I think it is so cute that he did Mickey heads and labeled all the noise levels with character names!

Fun artwork and Alex makes a great Abe Lincoln! Congrats to Alex, as well, for his swim meet wins!!! :goodvibes

Hope Tim and Jeff have fun at the game!

Alex had a lot of fun with the wax museum project. He really got into it.

Yes - Tim is a happy boy after the Yanks won yesterday. He wasn't happy when they lost on Friday.

Julie (mousescrapper) gets full credit for the cute format of the dining reviews. She created the pages for Nathan to do dining reviews & was nice enough to share them with me. I just printed them out and put them together in a book. Alex had one too but he wasn't interested in writing reviews.

Tim & Jeff had lots of fun at the game - they stayed overnight in Boston but are due home very soon this morning.

I love the silly pictures of the boys in front of the fountains. They really capture the fun mood of the moment....very nice! :thumbsup2

I really have to try that restaurant...I've been hearing great things about it. It will have to go on the list for next trip!

What a cute little Abe Lincoln! ;)

Hi Amy! I'm finally caught up... thank heaven for links!! :thumbsup2

You're right, I definitely sense the Groundhog Day theme! Oh well, whatever keeps the troops happy, right? So glad you've been getting resort time in... Ed always complains we don't do enough relaxing on our WDW vacations.

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for your Nov. waitlist!

Exactly what I was going to say! I'd lurked for a few updates but have now caught up myself.

I LOVE that picture of the boys in front of the fountain! You discovering you had the brakes on the stroller up that hill made me burst out laughing :rotfl:

The dinner reviews were awesome and great job on the odds and ends the boys have been up to! :yay:

LOVE the dinner reviews. What a fun idea. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

so cool their artwork got showcased and congrats to Alex for the great results at the swim meet :)

No I get it...part of me would like to go once w/ each kid alone...I think that would be so sweet...but I have a feeling I'll go at least once or twice w/ just R and NR while the twins are in HS and collage....considering the twins will be freshman in collage when NR even starts middle school.

we already know after Jan, there will be "one more" "big" WDW trip in the works...w/ finances now and seriously we have to start converting our Disney savings into collage savings w/in 2 years...HS/collage is closer than I realize for the twins

nope that does happen....my brother is a die hard Sox fan while I am a die hard Cubs fan :rotfl: we join forces for the BlackHawks though :goodvibes

Congrats to the boys on having their really neat artwork displayed. That's very cool!

My daughter Morghan also is a swimmer. Yay to Alex for winning his races!

Hopefully the waitlist comes through. I'll cross my fingers for you Amy. :)

Thanks - Zach had fun with it!

They started getting silly & I tried to stop then, then I decided to just go with it & let the CM snap away!

Alex did a great job as Abe!

Definitely a lot of repeats on the favorite rides!

We're slowly learning how important resort time is. :cloud9:

Exactly what I was going to say! I'd lurked for a few updates but have now caught up myself.

Hi Tracy!! The pictures by the fountain are some of my favorites - they are really being themselves.

The stroller brakes... :rolleyes1

LOVE the dinner reviews. What a fun idea. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

so cool their artwork got showcased and congrats to Alex for the great results at the swim meet :)

The reviews were fun - we'll definitely be doing it again.

I was glad they were both chosen this year for the art exhibit.

No I get it...part of me would like to go once w/ each kid alone...I think that would be so sweet...but I have a feeling I'll go at least once or twice w/ just R and NR while the twins are in HS and collage....considering the twins will be freshman in collage when NR even starts middle school.

One on one time would be so great - but I guess the best we can do is split up in the parks... or do something when they are older. :confused3

I know what you mean about finances... We just refinanced our mortgage to a shorter term & upped Tim's 401(k) contributions. Hopefully there will still be enough left over for more trips!

nope that does happen....my brother is a die hard Sox fan while I am a die hard Cubs fan :rotfl: we join forces for the BlackHawks though :goodvibes

Well it wasn't a sweep this weekend but the Sox came out ahead. Tim isn't thrilled but at least his Yankees are still ahead in the standings.

Congrats to the boys on having their really neat artwork displayed. That's very cool!

My daughter Morghan also is a swimmer. Yay to Alex for winning his races!

Hopefully the waitlist comes through. I'll cross my fingers for you Amy. :)

It was a beautiful exhibit with artwork from several different schools. Preschool all the way through high school. Some of the high school art was really good & some of it was pretty dark too!

I used to swim way back in the day so it's fun to watch Alex.

Thanks for the crossed fingers - I hope it comes through sooner than later!

When I left off the boys had finished their passports in Canada & we had some time to kill before Illuminations. As we left Canada, I took a picture of the new menu, which I’m sure anyone who cares has already seen:

Continued...

When we emerged the sun had set but we still had some more time so we started walking toward Test Track the boys spotted something that I’ve always avoided…
5a1208a5.jpg

Mission Space!! I rode it (green) with my mother in 2008 and it was just OK – I figured orange must be a lot better but I wasn’t willing to try it. I have never been interested in riding something that has caused people to die – granted they had underlying heart conditions but I didn’t want to find out about an underlying heart condition at Disney! :rolleyes1 I love thrill rides – but this one just freaks me out for some reason. Maybe it’s that it sounds very similar to a fast spinning ride from an amusement park I frequented as a child. The ride would spin so fast he floor could drop and you’d stick to the wall. I hated how the pressure felt on my chest. I wasn’t interested in feeling like that again… but they begged and I caved! So off we went into the orange line for Mission Space! And it was awesome! Alex was so funny because before the ride they told us to look straight forward the whole time – I don’t think he even blinked! They were both pretty proud of themselves after the ride.

After Mission Space we headed on to Test Track:

Alex thought it was hilarious that we could sit with a space between us!
After TT we had time for one more ride – Soarin’!

On the way to Soarin’ pictures:
e98b0463.jpg

On the way there we stopped for glow sword things that the boys just HAD to have! We made it to the Land & got in line and knew we were cutting it close for Illuminations but we got in line. Just as we were about to be put onto our little yellow marks the CM tells us to step aside for the next flight – there were only three spots for four of us. Tim decided to sit this one out so we wouldn’t miss Illuminations. But this meant we were in the bottom row, again… We rode but Zach was really disappointed and actually cried at the end! I promised him we’d have another chance to ride before the end of our trip and we’d try to get a better seat next time. But we had to move on, it was getting close to 9:00.

After leaving the Land we decided to head to Canada and check out the view from the stairs. It’s pretty hit or miss but after moving around a bit we found a pretty good spot and there were only a couple other people there so it was a great spot for us. Zach kind of pouted through the show but overall we enjoyed it.

After Illuminations we made our way against the crowds to the International Gateway and back to the Beach Club. Did I say I’m excited to stay at the Beach Club or Boardwalk this fall…

We headed back to Vistana & Zach fell asleep in the car on the way back!

Up next: What would we do tomorrow morning? (It really does sound like groundhog day, doesn’t it?)

Great update Amy! On our last family trip, the kiddos and I rode Mission Space. I was also hesitant like you but they loved it! I was surprised. :)

Being able to walk back to your resort is such a nice perk!
