Grossest Thing You've Seen at the Parks

Is this odd? :confused3 I'm not a fan of French fries but if I eat them I have to put something on them be that vinegar, ketchup or mayo. And they're always pre-salted anyway. Are there places where this isn't the case?

Out here, you won't be handed vinegar with your fries...that's for sure! If you asked, I bet they'd find you some. But it's definitely not the norm.

I have been to plenty of places that have malt vinegar at the condiment stands. You wont find it all the time but you may luck out. I could of swore somewhere they had the little packets of them. Im thinking the Columbia harbor house.

If they had a "disdain for waste" (kudos for spelling that correctly, BTW!), they wouldn't be buying the tv guides and newspapers in the first place. That behavior's known as "hoarding", and I've seen it extend itself to food and other really odd behaviors.

When people display behaviors as detailed above that can possibly bring harm to themselves, like eating other people's leftover food, then it's a behavioral disorder, not just a lifestyle choice, IMO...

Hoarding is a disorder but there is a difference between being frugal and wasteful. Hoarders don't throw anything away. They even keep their garbage!

Older folks and people like the Freegans that are against waste do things like eat food that is left behind. Many of them do it quickly to avoid detection but some are far more proud of their decision to do so and are very animated about it to further their cause.

The oldies probably don't see anything wrong with finishing off somebody's food. It's not exactly unsanitary unless they're diseased then that might be a little gross. I don't think it has anything to do with being poor. If they were poor, why would they be at Disneyworld?

I guess they could have been senile. With respect to eating food that is left on a tray either at a table or on top of a trash can, there's nothing really wrong with it except that it's gross. I eat my wife's leftovers all the time. Granted I've put my tongue in her mouth.

I've known some wealthy people who would do what that family did-I think it's called just being cheap!! I'm not sure they were poor-I can see a certain relative of mine doing this . Regardless, I think that the person who left them $20.00 was a sweetheart and was just trying to spread some random kindness. :thumbsup2 Who knows, maybe that family scrimped and saved and didn't quite realize how expensive a WDW vacation can be. Or someone else payed for them to go or they won the trip.:confused3

I know some very rich people who eat leftovers aswell, although usually from friends rather than strangers.

anyway, someone out there must have some gross story's to keep this thread going :)

Sorry for getting OT: but Oprah had a whole show on the freegan lifestyle the other day.

I have nothing against this lifestyle, except when it comes to food. It is just not safe to eat leftovers or dumpster dive. I could understand not liking waste, but there is a such thing as hepatitis and other scary things you can get.

Maybe I should go get my $20 back. LOL

Now for another slightly gross story. I saw a sweet old lady in the Magic Kingdom spit like a man. Me and my wife looked at each and had the same exact face on. :scared:

I have a story about that, but it's not in the MK. I went to Atlantis in the Bahamas July of 2004 and there's a big waterslide there in the shape of a temple with lots of steps to the top. Ok, keep in mind that it's a waterslide AND A REALLY $$ RESORT and people are walking around barefoot and some young teenage girl hocked on the ground not too far from where my bare feet were!!!! I tore her a new one! I thought it was so disgusting and she tried to act all big about it but, heck no!! That was disgusting!

Seriously not the same thing as going around topless.
At all.
I actually am having trouble even contemplating how someone can equate feeding a baby to just walking around topless. :confused3

Even Evil Knievil could not make such a leap in logic.

I have to say, many of these posts have to do with summer clothing, something I wasn't even considering when I booked my August trip. Other trips before this one were Nov., Jan., and Feb. Now I'm scared to go! Thanks alot! :lmao: :scared1:

You just reminded me of a small but gross one on my very first August trip.

On my first very hot August vacation, I went to go on Mickey's Philarmagic and it was packed. We were squeezed so tight in the waiting area right before the doors open to the theater. The smell of body odor was so bad, I felt like I was experiencing a new ride called "Living in an Armpit". It was pretty gross.

Thanks for refershing my memory of such a gross experience. LOL.

There's a different between summer clothing and hoochie outfits.
Is it as bad in Florida as it is in Anaheim? As soon as the weather goes above 75 the really, really short shorts and tube tops come out and I have to supress my gag reflex most of the time.

The difference between summer clothings and hoochie outfits? About 40 lbs...:rotfl:

When there was a news story about the kid who was dehydrated outside of Pirates, I kept pointing out that there are probably several kids a day that this happens to, we just don't hear about them. Some people should definitely not be parents...:sad2:

I'm always thought it's kinda funny that you have to pass a test to get a drivers license, but anyone can breed. :confused3

I don't think it matters where you are. It's like people leave all good sense behind when they go to a theme park and it's hot outside. I just can't believe what some people where out in public. I guess I have a little more shame when it comes to overexposure. :scared:

Yeah, I looked into booking a trip there, and I could not belive how expensive it was. It made Disney look like a total bargain. I hate to see that, but especially by a girl.

Reading this thread reminds of something George Carlan said...

"When you’re born you get a ticket to the freak show. When you’re born in America, you get a front-row seat." :scared1:

Be afraid. Be very afraid. :scared1: I've seen some CRAZY things on people and we usually go in April/May when it is warm but not August hot for sure. I, too, have seen women in their bras and one older, pooh sized lady in a bathing suit and white, totally see-through spandex shorts getting off Splash. I'd like to think that they just dress that way for the theme parks, which is bad enough, but, well, they got those clothes somewhere. I bet it isn't the first time they wore those outfits. Most of the ones dressed so inappropriately are also as red as a lobster.

Having said all that, these folks are usually pretty few and far between. . . If they weren't, the rest of us wouldn't remember each one so clearly.:rotfl:

I have video of a woman standing across the road from us while watching the Jammin' Jungle Parade. Her b00b$ were completely lopping out of her leopard print bathing suit (it was a one piece that she wore with shorts). I had a hard time concentrating on the parade with that in my field of vision.:rotfl2:

okay, let me just say...when I started planning, I thought people that were bringing jugs of sanitizer with them were crazy and over protectiv...this thread has taught me the error of my ways. I am not drinking out of water fountains, and I am SO bringing bunches of sanitizer with me. GROSS!!!

Well......Iam not sure whats worse that, or a older man getting out of the pool at CBR with a WHITE see-thru pair of swim shorts on...:scared:
