In desperate need of some ideas/help with what to buy for my Groomsman gifts? Long story short I received the gifts I purchased yesterday and I'm not happy with them. Our wedding is Saturday so ordering online is basically not an option. Flasks, cuff links, and beer are the only items I'm opposed with. So please fire at will with suggestions, my budget is roughly $25-$50 per item.

Thanks

DD got married in May.

The groomsmen got black/white high top sneakers (Keds? ConAir?)with their names embroidered.

The groom distributed the gifts between the wedding and the reception. The guys changed out of the rented shoes that matched the tuxedos and into matching tennis shoes that were perfect for dancing the night away.

Plus, they are actually being worn and enjoyed now that the wedding is over---how many money clips does one man need?

DH got a Coleman cooler for a groomsman gift. It happened to be full of beer but you could skip that part. It's the only groomsman gift he still uses!

Dh gave his guys pocket knives. Thank you for no flasks---- dh has 6 from being in weddings and never uses any of them!

How about a money clip? My DH did Simpsons cuff links for our wedding, and I think my brother gave cross pens with the guys' names on them.
In jumping on the PP and pocket knives, what about something like a leatherman or swiss army card? I think pocket knives are a good idea too!

ETA: I see you're in MA too, I don't know if you're close to any LL Bean stores (like in Mansfield, Dedham, or Wareham) but you could probably get some cool knife/leatherman type things there.

Thanks for the speedy replies. Sorry i didn't say anything in my original post but the pocket knife idea is out as that's what one of my Groomsman gave us at his wedding.

Anything else?

The best groomsman gift my dh ever received, is the groom paid for his tux rental:lmao:

I really, really like the running shoes idea - the cooler is a great idea too!

My DH bought tickets to a baseball game, and gave one to each of his groomsmen. The game was about a month after the wedding. They had a great time at the game together, and it gave them all a chance to get together again.

Wristwatches
Coolers
Duffel bags
Those stand fans, not the round ones but the columns - Walgreens has them, and so does target. Good even with a/c, given our heat wave ;)
Any chance they could use microwave ovens? KMart has some Proctor Silex for $44.99 this week.
Also, check Amazon - but NOT for 'groomsmans gifts, because most of those are the flasks you don't want to give :teeth:. If you find anything and order it today, you'll have it tomorrow.

My husband got everyone something different to match their interests. He got my brother and his cousin football jerseys. He got his brother some golf stuff. He got another guy an engraved mug from Things Remembered (a beer mug or glass) and then he got his best man a watch and an engraved pen (he is a cop).

My husband got each of hus Groomsmen bocce ball sets. They are all outdoorsy type and each one loved it!

I didn't like any of the traditional gift ideas - so here is what I have the guys in our wedding. White dress shirts with their initials embroidered on the cuff. It's better than cuff links because most men will only wear cuff links once or twice - but most guys wear a dress shirt quite often - and having the initials on it adds a little detail - and makes for a great wedding photos. You can buy the dress shirts off the rack and take them anywhere to be embroidered. You could easily get that done in an afternoon!

Another idea is a guy's trip to the 'car spa' if you have a nice handwash car wash in your town - get your guys together for some 'auto pampering' on the afternoon before the wedding or the morning of. That way - the cars will be clean for the wedding - AND - who ever takes the time to detail their own car before a big day like that? Plus, a good detail will last a month or so!

Another idea is actually a follow up gift - have your photographer take a photo of you with each of your groomsman and get them a personalized photo frame to put it in when your photos come back!

I always air on the side of practicality - think of something they use daily - and get them a really nice replacement for it. Think wallet - keychain - OR with this being the disboards - get them personalized mickey ears! 8 :)

You could rush ship those I imagine!

Last year my sister gave out a nice cologne (Ralph Lauren) to all the guys. Everyone enjoyed it, at least it is something useful.

If the groomsmen have to travel at all, I would caution against big items.

My brother gave Cross pens out for his wedding -- DS16 (then the ringbearer) still has and uses his.

Got married in NJ, and we wound up giving pocket knives because DH (then DF) left the gifts (the ONLY thing he was supposed to do for the wedding :headache:) home in VA.

Originally he had purchased brass business card holders for them, which would have been good, too.

Didn't think about this until the previous post -

If your groomsmen are flying in - a pocket knife may not be a good gift as they won't be able to take it on the plane. You can always put it in checked luggage - but then you run the risk of it being stolen!

My DH gave his groomsmen silver watches with their initials engraved on the flat clasp part of the watch. They loved them and still wear them.

i think it prolly falls into the category of you dont want to give it b/c its been given to you but ties are always popular- like the dress shirt, if its a nice basic tie will be reworn many times.
