Do people ever have a grooms cake at the rehearsal dinner? DF is a huge Denver Broncos fan and Journey (the band) fan. I wanted to have a cake that is a 3D helmet in Bronco colors with the Bronco and Journey symbol (a beettle/bird thingy) on the side. GF can't do that--they would do a half sheet cake with footballs and music notes on it and then a small 3D chocolate helmet with a bronco and journey symbol on the side. I'm not really a fan of it...sounds kinda cheesy and I'm not allowed to bring outside cakes in. I have found other cake places that can deliver what I want to Bahama Breeze for the rehearsal dinner, but my mom is saying that people don't have them at the rehearsal dinner. So I just wanted to check with you guys and see if you did this, or have seen it done. Thanks!

Hi Andrea! I have definitely seen groom's cakes at rehearsal dinners before, so I think it's a great idea! Especially since some people follow the tradition that the groom's family hosts the rehearsal dinner... what better place to have it?!?
:goodvibes

I have seen groom cakes at rehearsal parties to. I think it would be a great idea:thumbsup2

I surprised my DH with a Groom's cake at the rehearsal dinner. I figured that there would be enough cake served at the wedding...

Just an fyi..I had a grooms cake at O'hana for my rehearsal and used an outside baker. She made an incredible cake for us and it was no problem at O'hana....

I plan on surprising DF with a grooms cake at the rehearsal dinner (or lunch, as it will likely be for us).

Thank you so much! I think we are going to go this route!

I guess maybe I can't bring it into the GF for the actual reception?

I am having my groom's cake at our rehearsal. I'm having it done through Disney, though. That's just because I knew I would not have enough time to go offsite to pick it up. And...sneaking away from my husband-to-be is IMPOSSIBLE!

We're having a Lord of the Rings "The One Ring" cake. I'm paying dearly for it ($315), but the surprise on his face will be worth it...unless he kills me for spending do much.

So I ended up going with It's Tasty Too. I heard about them from a bride on the DFTW podcast. I had actually booked another place, but after the tasting with It's Tasty Too, I had my matron of honor call the other place and cancel (because I hate confrontation). Anyways, their cake was soooo good (honestly, their tasting was better than Disney's!) and when she drew up the sketch, it's perfect. She's making a Bronco's 3D helmet with the Journey CD case propped up against it. And they're delivering it to Bahama Breeze for me...all for only $120. I can't wait for DF to see it!

I also want to do this, Does Disney allow outside cakes for a dessert party at Sago Cay?? I could prob get a cheaper cake and more for my money if I can go with an outside baker.
