Wondering if any of you have experienced any groin pain?

I first had an issue with it I'd say maybe a couple of months ago. I was walking from my bus to the office and all of a sudden I got this pain in my groin on the left side. Stopped me in my tracks. I was like WHOA, what the hell was that? I stood there for a few and then continued walking. Not every step was painful but man every now and again, that pain would shoot on through. It all probably lasted a couple days.

Well, it started up again today. I was fueling the work van this morning and just standing there, I could feel that sensation again. Wouldn't you know it, that same pain is back. I don't know if the pain comes if I step the wrong way, or if I twist the wrong way. I just don't know. The pain doesn't happen with every step that I take but now I make an effort to pay attention to every step I do take and I go really slow. That way, it's like I'm expecting it to happen instead of just walking all willy-nilly and then BAM, I get this pain.

Any thoughts?

In college I pulled my groin but that was the result of a sport injury. You can see a doctor to confirm a tear or pull. If so, my recovery regimen was electric stimulation therapy as well as lots and lots of ice :(

It can come from strain (could very well be how you are twisting, stepping the wrong way, etc) or over straining from exercise.

I have had just very mild soreness from exercise in the past. I took it very slow while I built up muscular strength and do daily stretching now.

My flexibility STINKS! :badpc:

You have a groin pull, the muscles on that side are strained. Gentle stretching my help, ibuprofen and cold packs may help with the pain. Cold packs first, then after 48 hrs. warm packs. Good luck.

Is there anything you'd been doing that would have caused you to strain the musculoskeletal structures in your groin beginning before the first time this happened a couple of months ago? Sometimes those types of things can take a while to heal, especially if you're somehow still doing, even unconsciously, whatever it was that caused a strain in the first place. Give it some thought.

But also keep in mind that there are other structures in that area that should be considered, like the ovaries, the uterus (which can sometimes be enlarged with something like fibroids in the middle aged woman, causing pain higher or off to the side as opposed to lower and centrally), the bowel, etc, that should be evaluated if the pain continues.

It also could be from your hip. When the labrum in my hip was torn, one of the symptoms was groin pain.

I didn't know women could get "man pain"

The groin is not the same thing as manly bits. In close proximity though. The groin is the same thing as the inguinal area at the crease where the torso meets the leg. Muscle pulls are common. Men can get hernias in this area (much less common in women, but possible). I pinched a nerve there once and it was agony until the doctor gave me a prednisone pack.

:lmao: "manly bits" :rotfl2:

Could be your psoaz muscle, it's a really long muscle that wraps down through your groin area. could be something else. Try the inflammation cures and if it keeps happening, get in to see your doctor. Could be a hernia.
