Are the many grocery stores conveinent to WDW coming from the Sanford Airport?

We are renting a car from Sanford to WDW and can't decide if we should stop on the way to WDW to get our water and breakfast items or if we should ship those items beforehand.

Thanks for your input!

just subscribing because I am wondering the same thing! Someone said the Walmart near Sanford isnt bad, but the map I looked up was confusing to me?

I can't give you the a great grocery store location...when we stayed off site for the 1st part of our honeymoon, we were near Disney and shopped at a Publix that was nice. A suggestion...instead of paying to ship anything, check out gardengrocer.com. They will deliver everything you need directly to your hotel room...we loved it!

I thought about gardengrocer or wegoshop. What are the fees, ect? We don't need much, so I don't want to pay more in delivery fees that for a few items.

I looked up gardengrocer. I think it was $12 for delivery, plus the cost of the items?

The prices seemed a tad bit higher to me, but I know in the midwest our groceries are cheaper than other places, so they really are probably right on.

Honestly, we still MAY use them, but I am pretty sure that I will end up forgetting to pack something, so stopping at walmart or somewhere will probably be necessary anyway!:rotfl:

Where is the Walmart ? Is it easy to find??

I havent exactly figured out exactly where it is yet :) i asked on another board (I think Tranportation - which probably wasnt the right place to ask) and only got one reply, saying that Sanford Walmart is the best place to stop.

I am going to try to google or mapquest or something and if I figure it out I will let you know!

Ok, I looked it up.

It looks like there are two Super Walmart's with Sanford addresses. As far as I can tell, neither are too far out of the way:
3653 S Orlando Avenue
1601 Rinehart Rd

We plan on taking 417 heading NW from the airport to catch I4, and then take I4 south.

Going that route, it seems like the second address is pretty easy to get to. Looks like right before 417 gets to I4, there is a Rinehart Rd exit, and the Walmart is just North of 417.

Mapquest the addresses and you will see better what I am talking about.

If anyone else is reading this thread and has personally done the grocery stop, can you let us know if this is the best way?

Thanks.

Staci
