We are coming down in November and staying at the BCV. We need to know where the best/cheapest grocery store is ? Directions if possible. We have 3 boy's; 6,3 and 1 and they do not do well eating out.

I know that there is "Goodings" Supermarket right outside the gates of WDW near downtown disney but they are kind of pricey. They are convienient however as they are close and open 24 hrs. I have also heard that there is a Publix supermarket not too far away although not sure where. If you ask at the front desk when you check in (or call the front desk of BCV's before you leave home), I'm sure they would probably know and be able to give you directions. Or for that matter, I'm sure there are lots of other posters here on the boards who have been there and could tell you more than I can.

Hope this helps!

There is a new Publix located on Vineland exactly 3.5 miles from the Exxon station across from Downtown Disney.

Take Hotel Plaza Boulevard to RT 535, take a right on RT 535, take first left after going under I-4 overpass...that's Vineland, follow Vineland past the outlets, Publix will be on your left...you can't miss it. It's brand new...a very nice store.

There is also a lovely new Winn Dixie close to OKW. If you head out on the main road that takes you through the Downtown Disney area, you come to a major intersection with a traffic light, after you pass by the DD area hotels. If you go straight through this intersection you pass into the Crossings shopping plaza, where Goodings is. If you instead make a left here, and travel up approx 1 mile, the Winn Dixie is in a new shopping plaza on the right. It sits back a bit but you can see it from the road. I shopped here and found the trip -- it's about 2 minutes further from WDW than Goodings -- to be worth it. The store was spotless and the prices were normal. Goodings scares me with their $5 milk... There was also a Walgreens on the left if you need a pharmacy.

Have fun!

We used the Winn Dixie 2 weeks ago, and found it to be new, clean and the prices were in line with our area. We have also stopped at the Albertson's very conveniently located on Orange Blossom Trail coming in from the airport on 417. I didn't think their prices were bad at all. Just take the Orange Blossom exit off of 417 and go straight across Orange Blossom into the parking lot area. There is a stop light so it makes for very easy entry and exit. There are also several good restaurants in the area. This will be our stop on the way in from now on.

There are loads of grocery stores near WDW, basically if you leave WDW property and drive 15 minutes in any direction you will come to a grocery store. As well as the ones mentioned above there is also a Winn Dixie and a SuperWalmart right off I92 heading towards Kissimmee.
