I don't ever hit anyone's car , at least not willingly and trust me when I say those carts do not move when parked , the ones that move and roll are the ones overflowing from the corrals that only get emptied twice a day in a very busy supermarket. Perhaps if the stores had corrals on every section instead of just one , people would return more carts and the corrals wouldn't overflow.

How do you really know your cart doesn't hit any other car? Do you stand there and watch it til someone comes along and does your job and puts the cart back? Or are you ASSuming the cart doesn't hit anything? Somehow I think it's the latter.

The only one here doing any ASSuming is you. Unless you know the area and the supermarket , you are the one ASSuming that my laziness and is doing damage, but you have no clue.

The ironic thing is that I belong to the bad mommy club according to some because I leave my kids in the car to return it and you do because you don't . Kinda feels a bit like a no win situation, huh?

FWIW, I could care less what people do with their carts. I return mine cause I was raised with a good dose of guilt and it would haunt me!

This is why we return things taken out of the store that we did not pay for.

Everyone has their things they have to do and what guilt would do to them.

I do not cognizantly place carts in a place as to knowingly providing a possibility that they will hit a vehicle. Often times--the place I place it is safer than the half-baked contraption they have for a corral.

But now with this thread--I will feel too guilty of being ignorant, negligent, and stupid...so I will be compelled to return it for fear of coming back here and knowing that people are so gosh darn offended and irritated by the act.

Funny enough--at Target--I don't know about their corral spacing--but it is always easy to get to. I actually cannot recall an illegal non-cart return situation that I have been guilty of.

Wal-mart it is not--it is EVERY OTHER OTHER ROW with no pass through--so I lift hte bugging into the grassy/curb thing between the rows. If it rolls into another car--it's b/c a car jumped the curb and ran into it.

Publix--I'll just make sure the bag person does there job and I won't have to worry about it.

So no more illegal cart parking for me unless it is an emergency. :wave2:

But you aren't sure that you aren't doing damage. You have no clue. That is my point. Unless you take the responsible step and take the cart back then you have no idea if there has never been damage to other cars. I can say that I always take my cart back and KNOW I have never damaged another car. You can't say that. My point.

You were still safe at walmart unless you chose to jump a curb.

(And even with all the left out cars--I've never seen a scratch on my vehicles as a result of carts. Doors--yes....carts, never :confused3 )

I'm not perfect. I'm just responsible.
Good , I will continue to be the irresponsible bad mommy and keep my membership in the bad mommy's club . it's fun in there.... :rotfl2:

Sounds like a deal to me. Whoever shops at Walmart can do whatever the heck they want with their carts and those of us who prefer Target can be safe there.

Now, we just have to work out grocery stores!

Thank God the mall doesn't have carts!

i was hoping this thread was still going, we were at wal mart lassst week, nice clear evening, warm, this lady was shopping with her daughter, daughter around 30, mom around 55, mom was pushing cart out to car with one little bag in it, daughter was ahead of her starting car. mom gets to car, we are pulling out of space to leave, and about time we get even with the car, the lady pushed the catr into the lane, right in front of my suburban, well, being as my suburban was right behind her little car, i pulled up to where she couldnt move and sat there and waited, after about 5 minutes of dw and i discussing just how stupid this lady was, daughter finnally got out of the car, pulled hte cart out from in front of my truck, ( steadily giving me dirty looks and muttering) she was going to place it in nearest empty space,, but as she started to turn it loose,, i honked my horn and started turninginto that space..lol.. she ended up taking it about 30 more feet and puttting it into the corral, at which point i backed out of the spot and drove very cautiously being as she was right behind me till we got back into town.

Froggy, you're my hero!!! :thumbsup2

I have had a cart pushed into the door of my 2-month-old car by another car and had a scratch down to the bare metal. The cart was left in a parking space and the driver didn't want to get out and move it.

As far as carry out service is concerned, that is only good if the packer/carry out person is capable of the task. At one Publix in Vero Beach they hire challenged people for this job. That's fine, but one guy packs the milk on top of the grapes, or the laundry detergent on top of the bread. :furious: He also takes off if you ask for paper bags. I now pack my own groceries and he has learned to stay away. The cashiers hate it when he bags at their checkouts, too.

Looks like we've got lots of different attitudes and approaches about what you should do with the grocery cart when you're done with it.

How about we end this one while we're all still friends ? :)
