Grocery store on or near Palm Parkway?

We check into CBR this Saturday. We are eating off-site that night on Palm Parkway. I'm trying to locate the closest grocery store to minimize time. I figured after we eat we'll pick up what we need. Very minimal like soda, milk, 1/2 & 1/2, bakery items. Doesn't have to be the least expensive but would rather not the most expensive.
I found a Winn Dixie(Apopka Vineland Rd) about a mile from where we have dinner reservations (Kobe Japanese Steakhouse). How's Winn Dixie? Is there something even closer?

the winn dixie and goodys are the only stores right there off vineland. a little ways up the road is a wal-mart that is going down palm parkway

If time is your biggest factor, the Wal-Mart on Turkey Lake Road is your best bet. turkey Lake is actually Palm Parkway as it heads further north - while it is farther as the crow flies, you get one stop sign and two traffic lights. And coming back, it is even easier to jump on I-4 for two exits.

I have not tried that Winn Dixie, but in my experience they are cheap for a reason.
If you are after closeness rather than price, Goodings still has a location in Crossroads, which is across from the Lake Buena Vista entrance to downtown Disney.

What do you mean by "cheap for a reason".
The supplies we need is very minimal. How can they mess up a 12pk of coke, 1/2 gal milk etc. We are not buying groceries as we are staying at CBR. Just buying drinks and snacks really.

I can definitely recommend Winn-Dixie :) We always shop there - very close to Palm Parkway and great value for money. Don't know what the pp means by "cheap for a reason" unless they mean not overpriced like Goodings!
:)

Also if you sign up for the Winn Dixie card (just a loyalty card, not a store card) , you can get coupons and special deals in-store :)

Thanks Tink2312
It seems that Winn Dixie is the closest & not most expensive store near Kobe Japanese Steakhouse. We have 7pm reservations on Valentine's Day and probably won't get to the store until around 9pm. Really just want to run in after dinner and pick up a few things without going too far. If we were doing a large shopping I would travel to a Super Walmart but we don't need much.

Publix is the best grocery store in Florida, but there's none in the immediate area. There's nothing wrong with Winn Dixie and is definitely the most convenient to Palm pkwy and Apopka Vineland rd.If you have an extra 5 minute drive to the Super Wal Mart on Turkey lake rd where you might find better deals.I remember going to Goodings like 16 years ago at their location in International Drive and it was very nice, but expensive as they cater to tourists. However I've been to the Goodings in the last couple of years and they are showing their age.In the past you could say they were expensive but really nice inside, now they're just expensive!

Hi Jenn! David and I ALWAYS shop at that Winn Dixie - it is way cheaper than Goodings in price, kind of reminds me of our Big Y's around here. We usually do a big shopping there before we check into SSR. If you have any questions, feel free to give me a buzz. Have a great trip!

Thanks Cheryl! Since we have a car this trip (first time ever onsite) we want to pick up waters, soda etc. Really don't want to go out of our way just to save a few bucks. When we stayed at the Hyatt 2 years ago we went to Goodings and I remember the prices being very expensive. Wish I had known there was a Winn Dixie not too far away. We never ventured that way.
Thanks and we are sleeping in Boston tomorrow night and I haven't even started packing yet! I'm on my last load of laundry though. :)

Winn Dixie is the closest store to Kobe, and while I generally avoid the chain, that one is the nicest I have ever been in. Still not quite Publix, but better than Wal-Mart or the horrific and overpriced Goodings.

Wal-Mart is about a 5 to 7 minute drive up Palm Parkway/Turkey Lake Road (as mentioned above, same road, just the name changes). It is still fairly new, but can get packed, especially when a busload or two of Brazilian tour groups stops by.
