Sorry if this has been asked and answered already, but couldn't find it...

We're planning a grocery stop on our transfer to the Port; can we just carry-on what we get in grocery bags? or do we need to somehow pack them into our suitcases/carryons? I know suggestions have been made about soft coolers - is this where this could come in?

TIA,
Tracey

Yes to all the above, you can do it any way you want, pack in luggage, carryon in the store bags, whatever you want to do. The only rules for the carryons are a)no hard side coolers b)anything else must be able to fit thru an airport size scanner c) NO ICE, which you won't need anyhow, as much as you need will be provided by room steward.

You can carry on a grocery bag, but why? If the issue is a special diet, as long as DCL is notified in advance, they will take care of any special foods or preparation needed, even to the extent of obtaining special foods for you on the cruise and individually preparing it (we travel occasionally with a friend with many severe food allergies).

If you're talking about a bag of cokes or water or something like that, there's no problem with bags. Baby foods, and medications are allowed in coolers.

Also, since you are taking a limo...if you can tuck your groceries into your luggage, that will work fine too. We have occasionally put a 6 pack of Dr Pepper in a plastic bag and that (double bagged) into a suitcase...never had a problem with it. I wouldn't try that for flying, but it was fine for driving.

You are supposed to limit to one carry on per person, but I've never seen this enforced. A lady's purse doesn't count as a carry on. My goal for our next trip is to convince DD that she doesn't need a carry on...one less thing for me to worry about!

I guess my initial thought was to grab a 6-pack of cokes and rootbeer and maybe some munchies for my DS. I figured since the grocery stop is free, why not? Besides we're flying in, so I had not really wanted to stuff the six packs in my suitcase/carryon if I didn't have to...

If you check out Dave's site, www.dcltribute.com he has a very good map of Space Coast for a couple of stops at places where you can pick up pop, and other last minute things you need to grab.
