What do you all buy at the grocery store on your way in?

I'm hoping to make one stop so you're suggestions will hopefully help me not forget anything!

:earsgirl: :earsboy:

If you are staying on property you may want to bring some breakfast items. We always get some of the o.j. and milk that comes in a six pack. They tend to be a bit expensive at the hotel. Plus, we try to bring snacks and a lot of water. Water at the park and the hotel is about $2 a bottle. Just some suggestions.

Thanks Colleen!

Do you rent a refridgerator at the hotel? My kids drink tons of milk, but the fridge seems expensive to rent.

Just trying to get it all figured out!

I have found that keeping everything in Ice either in the Sink or a cheap cooler is cheaper than renting a fridge. Plus Ice will keep thing colder. Just don't buy stuff in carboard containers.

A collapsable cooler works great. There are ice machines at every resort. Adult beverges are also cheaper when purchased at the grocery store.

We usually just buy breakfast items as well. We used a cooler and ice from the hotel, dh would fill it every morning or evening depending on the melt rate. We got milk, bagels, cream cheese, yougurt and some fruit. Very rarely did we eat breakfats in the parks or hotel, other then the Character breakfast.

I've had trouble in the past with the collapsable coolers leaking - any suggestions on one that doesn't leak??

Do you get them down there, or take it with you?

HPHILBIN - I've never had trouble with my collapsible coolers leaking, but if you're concerned, buy a box of large Zip-lock bags to keep the ice in. This will also keep everything from getting wet. Or, I've seen suggestions to buy a cheap styrafoam cooler ($3-4?) at the grocery store that you can throw away at the end of your visit.

We are planning on getting a couple of boxes of snack food - such as granola bars or individual packets of Chex mix - that we can carry into the park. Don't go nuts and buy a months worth or groceries that you end up having to haul home or throw out, though!

What we did when we got there was get a really cheap styrofoam one at Walmart that we then used in the car on the way home, if not you could just chuck it because they are SO cheap. Dh also says that you should have a high ratio of water in a cooler and it will keep the food colder longer. I didn't believe him but it really does work!:bounce:
