In all the years we've been going to WDW I usually cart along some of my own grocery "staples" and then buy additional at the resort or Market Place.
I would like to try the 30 minute stop the town cars make since we always get a town car anyway.

Can't figure out how to walk into a strange store, go up and down all the asiles till you find what you want and get through check out all in 30 minutes.
Even if you have your exact list in front of you in a new store you don't know where anything is.
I have trouble getting milk and bread from my neighborhood store in 30 minutes.
How do you do it????
And which store is the best/easiest to negotiate?

If you can find out what grocery store you'll be taken to check online to see if they have a map and a way to create a shopping list sorted by aisle. Wegman's has this as does some other stores. It's something Publix may have as well.

we requested to go to publix as we find that to be a nice store..and we were in and out i think in like 20 minutes...easy to find everything.....

for our grocery stop.We prefaxed our order, and was ready when we got there. Its the strore on Hwy417and Orange bLossom trail.

I'll try to find the number for you and post it!!:sunny:

We just had a list ready to go and we didn't have any trouble at all. I think we were done in 15 minutes.

Is there a Wegman's in Orlando??? I didn't know they were that far south! If they are, that's where I'm doing my stop! I love Wegman's and know the layout by heart (most of the new ones have similar layouts, I think!)

I bought a ton of stuff.....breakfast, lunch, drinks, and snacks for 10 days.....and was able to do it in 30 minutes. Had a list, and things went pretty quickly.....I did probably spend 20 minutes on the vast majority and another 10 minutes looking for a few things, but it worked out o.k. I counted from the minute I went into the door until I walked out the door. My husband watched the kids and didn't accompany me, so that shaved 2 hours off my time right there! :D

I like the idea of ordering ahead....guess they must keep the order in a frozen area in that case?

When you make your list, organize it by categories of items that are logically together -- breakfast foods, snacks, drinks, etc. That will keep you from getting all your breakfast foods and then getting 2 aisles down and seeing that you forgot pop tarts. Leave the kids in the car, if possible or applicable (and with an adult, of course), and just get what's on your list.

Dear mmb:

When you faxed to Albertson's and then picked up your order, were you en route from the airport to your hotel?

That's my game plan which I've arranged with Happy Limo.

I've heard Albertson's will have the order ready for you if you fax the order.

Do you happen to have the fax number of the store?

Thanks.

If you want to make a grocery stop on the way to your hotel from the airport, a good thing to know is that the Albertson's supermarket at 12981 S. Orange Blossom Trail (Orange Blossom Trail exit from SR 417) will allow you to fax a list to them at (407) 857-0132. They will have your order packed and ready to pick up! You can call them at (407) 857-5666. Give name, phone, arrival time 24-48 hours in advance.

We did this in December for the first time. I made the list real specific with my brand choices/sizes. We stopped on the way from the airport to the hotel. I went to the service desk to pay and they handed me the groceries from a refrigerated area. I was out within 5 minutes...it was a awesome!

We've always used Happy Limo and the one time I needed a grocery store stop they went to Albertsons - if you know what you want and are just getting a few things it's not hard to do it yourself in the allotted time - however I noticed on www.orlandotripplanner.com that Happy Limo now encourages you to fax the order to Albertsons and they will have it waiting for you to pick up when you arrive. I think someone already gave the fax number but you can also find it at the above mentioned website on the Transportation Page - I think. Faxing seems to be the way to go if you want to cut down on time. If you used code OTP1277 when you book with Happy Limo you also get a discount on your transfer. But I bet you can fax your order to Albertsons even if you don't use a town car service.

Who has the most reasonable prices publix or albertsons

Sorry, I didn't mean to confuse anyone. I just used Wegman's as an example because we have them here. They haven't hit FL yet.

We had Tiffany (ask for Larry--he's the BEST!) take us to Pick-n-save and I was in and out in 20 minutes!

The KEY is to
#1 go in ALONE!!!!!!!!!no kids or husbands to distract you
#2 have a LIST!!!!

It can be done, I have done it many times
