My 23 yr. old daughter and I will be staying at POR in August and for the first time aren't renting a car. We always make a stop at Goodings at Crossroads for our water, chips and some Mike's Hard Lemonade. Because we won't have a car this year we were wondering if we should order our groceries or take a cab over to Goodings to stock up. Any suggestions??

Try GardenGrocer.com. You order your groceries from home ahead of time and set up a date/time for delivery to your resort. If you're not there when they come, they will leave your stuff with bell services for delivery to your room later. We used them for our stay at Shades of Green last summer and it was great! There is a $12 delivery fee, but to me that's more than offset by not having to spend valuable vacation time food shopping, not to mention possible cab fare. Also, you can include the delivery person's gratuity when you pay on-line, so no worries if you're out at a park when they deliver.

i used Gardengrocer yesterday, while they cant take orders over the phone, I still found the website, albeit SLOW, to be easy and convenient. They are filling up, so you should order in advance..

It doesn't sound like you need much, and I believe Garden Grocer has a minimum $50 order. I think you can order from Goodings directly and they'll deliver. Try googling them for a website and check it out. HTH

We have used gardengrocer a number of trips and have hi praise.

I using Garden Grocer this year but I don't think they sell alcohol.:(

We used to always walk to Goodings, about a mile and it got us into the walking mode for WDW, that was before the grocery deliveries. As soon as we checked in our resort, we'd bus to DTD, cross the street and take the blvd to Crossroads and get our snacks and drinks and walk back to the bus and head to our resort. Really a pleasant walk in the evening, stretches the legs.

We now use a car service from the train station to our resort and they include a 30 minute grocery stop, very convenient, Publix with a liquor store next door. Thats our trick for now but we never buy alot and most deliveries have a minimum and fee, back to the Goodings walk.

I was checking out Garden Grocer's website and didn't see any mention of a $50 minimum purchase on the information pages. They only mentioned the $12 delvery fee.

GardenGrocer.com does sell alcohol. You may need to fax them a copy of your driver's license in advance though. Also, I don't think there's a $50 minimum- just the $12 delivery fee.

Also to purchase alcohol from gardengrocer you just need to list what you want in the comments section of the order form.

We have used gardengrocer twice and there is indeed a minimum of $40.00 and a $12.00 delivery charge plus gratuity. Purchase of alcohol does not go towards the meeting the $40.00 minimum order.
We have added beer to our order by just indicating type in the comments section, we did not need to fax any proof of age or be present at delivery, though YMMV;)

Hope this helps, have a great trip.
