We are staying at AKV Jan 20 - 25th (using our points for the first time! :woohoo:) and having groceries delivered for the first time. I am staying at VWL for 1 night and then transferring to AKV in the morning of the 21st.

So, here are my questions....

* I think we are using We Go Shop so we can be more specific with our requests. Can I pay with a credit card ahead of time, or no... because they won't give me a total until they deliver? Can I leave a credit card with bell services? Has anyone done that, or is that sketchy?

* If I have alcohol delivered, I already know I need to be there to sign for it and show ID. Are they accurate with their delivery times? I don't want to spend all day waiting around when we are only there for a short amount of time. If that's the case, I will just skip the booze and they will hold the food for me, right? Which I guess brings me back to the "how to pay if I am not there" thing....

* If we *can* pre-pay and have them hold our delivery and decide to skip the alcohol delivery, is there somewhere at AKV to buy some if we decide we want to later? We aren't HUGE drinkers, but I may want a few glasses of wine or something :thumbsup2

Thanks so much in advance for any help! Everyone makes it seem like it's so easy, so I am probably overthinking it.

Congrats and Welcome Home!

We have used Wegoshop many many times. In answer to your questions:
she does charge a fee, I believe, for the credit card. Send her an email so you are clear. I usually have met up with Amy (or Cathy) and settled in cash.
The only time I was disappointed was when I was not clear (i.e. canned beer instead of bottles).

As to delivery times, she has never been late but early!

As to alcohol, the cost of a bottle of wine is not the issue. It's the selection. Yes, you can get bottles of wine at the resort gift shops. Someone else can chime in as to varieties at AK but we do bring our own checked in our luggage.

Have fun planning. LOVE LOVE our DVC.

Thanks so much for the info! I am just worried about being there at a specific time because we are switching resorts too and would like to get to the parks early.... If I cant get them to let me pay with a card, maybe I'll see if they can deliver it later that evening instead.

We have used grocery delivery for years also.....but, we've used Garden Grocer. I have always paid with a cc online when I place my order, they do charge a delivery fee (unless your order is a few hundred dollars I believe ... there may be free delivery....not sure if they still do that) I've also been able to include a gratuity with my cc. They will also delivery alcohol.....I'm thinking only beer and wine though...since both can be purchased at the grocery. I've never actually met anyone from Garden Grocer since I schedule the delivery for around the time we're scheduled to land at MCO....it gets delivered to bell services....I get a text from GG delivery person....usually when we're boarding ME at the airport....telling me my groceries are waiting at bell services......couldn't be easier. When we arrived at resort to check-in I simply ask the front desk to have bell services deliver our groceries to our room.....and we unpack our bags and groceries at the same time......and then we're off to enjoy our vacation!

So, with GG you don't need to be there to receive alcohol? Do you need to fax them an ID ahead of time or anything?

Actually, yes, the first time I ordered from them I did need to FAX a copy of my DL when ordering wine and beer.....but, I only needed to do it the first time I ordered. I'm guessing because you set up an online password/account and once they verify you're OK agewise they don't need to do it again? We've never had a problem with anything from them.....I would say we've ordered a few times a year for the past six years or so.

When MouseConceirge delivered alcohol for me, I did not have to be present. They placed on the shelves in the storage room, texted me the exact placement so that when I arrived I could tell bell service and bell service delivered to our rooms. They even put the champagne in the bell service's refrigerator so we were ready to go!

We have used We Go Shop twice and have had alcohol delivered both times, most recently 2/2012. I just gave Amy my credit card info over the phone and faxed her a copy of my drivers license. Our order was waiting for us at bell services when we arrived. All of the perishables were stored properly, and the beer and wine were in the fridge as well. Fantastic service! Both trips we had late flights getting into MCO around 10pm, so meeting her in person wasn't an option.
