Her name is Carol. I used to work with her husband in Vegas, that is how we met. They have since moved to Tennessee & us to WA, but we keep in touch with them. I am sooo excited for her!!! When she started in the culinary field in Vegas she worked at Mesa Grill (Bobby Flay's restaurant). She is a tiny little thing, I hope Chef Ramsey doesn't chew her up and spit her out!!! Accck he makes me nervous!!

Since you are the band director you will enjoy this. My grandchildren had their band concert last night too. Their group, third grade strings, played first.
When 4th and 5th grade strings were getting ready to preform a third grader sitting in the back was acting up. The band director called him down discreetly about 3 times. On the 4th time (we were sitting near the front) she very quietly said, "Jason go find your Mom and sit and with her!". Of course she had to repeat it a couple of times because Jason did not want to go.
The bad thing about this is his Mom was sitting beside me and she acted like it was no big deal. I would have been so mad at my grandchild if they had shown that much disrespect.
I will remind you all as it gets closer, it doesn't start until Jan. 29. I talked to her today and she said that the taping is all done, even the finale. She said she was gone for 6 weeks doing it and had to have zero contact with her husband and kids. Even now she cannot tell them how she did on the show or anything about it.
It is my youngest son's birthday tomorrow. It started snowing her yesterday and didn't stop for 30+ hours. We set a new record for most snowfall in a 24-hour period. The old record was 13 inches, we officially got 27. Although that "official" stuff is crapola because it's always hotter than they say, or colder, well in this case we got about 48 inches!!! They cancelled schools for today and tomorrow, my little one thinks they have cancelled his birthday. Most stores were closed today, they even closed the major shopping malls. We did not get our trash picked up today nor was our mail delivered, and we may not get mail delivery for a whole week!!!! No one can get down our street. This is a pic of my husband leaving for work this morning, since he is a fire fighter they can't cancel his work so he had to go, everyone else on my street was home, work cancelled.

DH left his job and it took him 5 and half hours to get over to our DD college. At the time the place he worked was less than ten minutes away. So he stayed at her college that night. 
He said he was way to old for college life.
