Mn_gal, I got come coupons from you today!! Thanks so much! I like the juice bottle ones, those are cool, I've never seen those before. Also like the business card...very savvy! :thumbsup2

I am now the owner of a 3 mont old kitten. I guess I need cat food and litter coupons!:)

Did you adopt it or did it adopt you? I wouldn't mind getting a cat, however, I doubt our dog would appreciate it.

We adopted from the Humane Society. She was fostered in a home with dogs and cats. So far my dogs are not thrilled but not unhappy. We'll see! She is currently hiding under my chair as the dogs wait for her to come out. She has claws (for now at least) so can defend herself.:rotfl:

I don't know if you have small children but if so be very careful. If the kittens scratch anyone be sure it wash wound under warm running water using soap.

DGS was just diagnosed with Cat Scratch Fever yesterday from his kittens. Enlarged lymph nodes are one of the first symptoms.

Now that I have been Debbie Downer enjoy your new fur baby.

YEAH!!!!!!The poop is once again flowing smoothly at our house! :lmao: I'll tell ya......its a dirty job but that man told me he bills out at $60 per hour!!!!!! Holy smokes! That is some nice money! He had to run 84 feet of snake line through the pipe which basically meant he was at the junction between our line and the city line but since the city line was running, they said it was our responsibility! Oh well. It could have been soooooo much worse. Cost us $250. The smell is still bad but not like it was down there. I have to bleach down that whole part of the basement tomorrow and then on Monday we have to pressure wash it all down and clean it up. He said to let it sit for a day to kill any germs......ewwwww.......lol It was really gross down there!

Nena and Jen thank you both for the info!!!!!! Nena i can't believe your envie didn't come yet! Phooey! Hopefully Monday. Good catch on the SciDiet as we're due for it!

mskay- I wouldn't wish all you've been through on my worse enemy. I can't even think about it- too gross for me :scared: .

It was gross but what can you do? Its gotta be dealt with so may as well make the best of it and just do it. I just keep thinking how much worse it could have been. MIL and FIL go to Myrtle Beach every year. The water line to the second floor of their house burst sometime while they were gone last winter. My niece went over with her BF to borrow some movies, heard water, and called her dad to go in with them. 200 gallons of water per hour had been running out of that pipe directly into their kitchen, through the house, down into the furnace which of course shut down, there was about 3 1/2 feet of standing water in the basement (full finished basement). Bad? Yup! Gets worse? ohyeah! FIL is a memorabilia collector.....baseball/football/hockey cards, autographs, photos, you name it! As an idea of what I mean, he had every NY Rangers card from inception, almost complete sets of Yankees, etc. He used to own a store selling this stuff so I mean tons of it.... Also had a full setup with custom backdrops for N-gauge mini-trains down there. 80% of it was toasted. Just absolutely ruined!

It took them 8 months to get the house rebuilt. When the heat was finally turned back on (new furnace) the walls all heaved because of the moisture, the floors buckled, toilets pulled away from floors, faucet fixtures blew out of the walls where the ice had damaged them. Unreal. Keep in mind, we live in northern NY. Not only had the water come in like that but it was cold enough that the water standing in the toilets was frozen.

Sooooo......my having 4 inches or so of standing poop water in part of my unfinished basement seems very very mild to me! lol ;)

OMg, now that is terrible! I can't imagine. Mskayjay I like your attitude. It's a "what are ya gonna do about it" attitude. I try to be the same way, no matter what the situation is, I just say "ok" and you roll with it. Always better to be happy about everything (even standing poop water) than to let it get the best of you, makes for a shorter life to always be angry. ;)
I find the Brits are like this, and yes all of them. As a country this is how they act. Did you ever see the Nat. Lampoons European holiday? Well, Clark nails a guy on a bicycle (with his car) on a round-a-bout a few times and the guy keeps getting up smiling saying "it's ok...I'm fine...have a good day." It's freakin hilarious, I probably don't tell it right, but it is so true of the British people and their easy going nature.

Vegasnative, sorry to hear your recent problem. Your story of your in-laws reminds me of what happened to us last November. My son got out of the shower and hollered downstairs to me that the bidet was leaking. I thought that was strange as we don't use the bidets in the house. I was not concerned too much or in a hurry because of his use of the word leak. Well, as I was heading upstairs, I realized the water was coming down the hallway. The fabric hose that connects the HOT water from the wall to the bidet had sprung a massive hole, not a leak. I had buckets of scalding water coming from this hose! THere was no shut off valve in the bathroom. I had no way to even bucket this water as the water was literally coming out like a firehose sideways. I could not soak it up with towels either.

We called the landlord and luckily he lived around the corner. He had no idea where the shut off valve was to the bathroom or even the house! By then, it was flowing down the hallway and falling from the top step of the stairs like a waterfall! He immediately called his handy man to come quick. Handy man said "I will come tomorrow!" Landlord said no, now! SO, there was nothing we could do but watch the water flow into every room in the house top, first and basement floors. We watched for 20 minutes. It was the most helpless feeling in the world. THey finally figured out the shutoff valve to the house is right outside the front door.

Sadly, this was not the first flood like this we had. Just a year before that we had a flood in the basement when a similar hose to the toilet began leaking. It was a slow drip. THere were weeks we never went in the basement, so have no idea how long that one was flooded. Anyway, one day my husband went down there and discovered it, but instead of telling me what had happened he just shouted desperately that I needed to come down there. I thought he was seriously injured. I ran down the stairs and just as my feet stepped through the basement door, my feet hit the water and both flew out before me and I landed on my back! If it had not been for my ponytail, I probably would have cracked my head open. Needless to say I was not so happy with my husband. We had alot of damamge with that flood.

Corrina We call it keeping a Stiff upper lift !! But I have to say when my parents visited the States they were very impressed by American manners . My Dad could not get over being able to leave his money on the bar and no one took it . Mum was so impressed with drivers who let her cross the road first !! So it is a 2 way street !!Both have very good traits !!

According to http://www.taylortownpreview.com/id75.htm there will be a
FREE French's Worcestershire Sauce, coupon in 10/5/08 Paper

"541500210013 Frenchs Worcestershire Sauce, any 5 or 10 oz. FREE up to $1.69 (1-31-09)"

If anyone gets an extra paper and receives the FREE coupon, I would love to have one. DD loves this stuff!!
I got 3 papers and each only had one Smart Source insert. According to taylortown, each should have had 3. I hate when I dont get all my coupons in the paper I buy. :sad1:

Have to share "Flooded Basements stories ". I grew up in an old house where the servants cooked ,did laundry etc ( we didn't have servants) So the kitchen was in the basement !! Now we shared a sewere line with the duplex next door ,and every time it rained hard the sewer could nor handle it and we had 2 - 4ft of water in the kitchen . The Health Inspector (Mr Box) knew this and would come and check the next morning , ready to condemn the basement ! Well it was Dad's and my job to bail out and clean up before the dreaded BOX visit !! I frequently was up all night doing this with Dad and my reward was no school the next day!!Mr Box was foiled every time !!

Okay, so I just sat and read all of the new thread. I haven't been on in awhile, life has been crazy as usual for me.

I have fallen off the coupon wagon so to speak, but my budget has been blown in the matter of 2 weeks so I have to be strong and get back to it. First, my washer went - the dryer has been iffy for a while now and scorches things so we decided to replace them both. Then 3 days after that the van breaks down, more money we don't have to spend. And then cause things like to happen in 3s the refrigerator decides it's jealous and completely dies... so there all the money we have saved so far for vacation. So I guess no first trip for us to the world in Feb. Dang it!

Oh well life goes on. But... I just wanted to say thank you for all the birthday envies I got and the ones from my sender. They have been great!! Really made my day.

Vegasnative - I am sorting through them all today and will send along an envie to you first thing tomorrow!

I'm interested in joining the coupon train and wonder what the rules are and how to apply. Thanks for more information as I'm not in the loop yet on this.
:confused3
