Is there a walmart close to the Pop Century Resort and does anyone know how much it would cost approximately to take a taxi there and back to the resort? Would it be easier to order through a site such as Garden Grocer? I understand that you need to be there for delivery - do they give you an approximate time that they will deliver? Any advice on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

I can't answer you question about taxi costs, but can provide some information about grocery delivery. The two companies that spring to mind are Garden Grocer and Wegoshop. The latter has gotten some great reviews recently. You can check their websites for details like minimum order amounts, delivery charges etc. They will deliver your order to the resort according to the date and time you specify. The resort bell services (luggage services) will store them until you call for them. They have refrigerators and freezers for perishables. So in theory your order could be waiting for you when your ME bus arrives. Call bell services for delivery when you get to your room or pick them up yourself. HTH.

I agree with the PP. Use a grocery delivery service. You do not need to be there when your stuff is delivered, so no worries about the timing. My biggest reason for using Garden Grocer is that I don't want to spend any of my precious WDW vacation time in a grocery store!

There is a Publix supermarket 2 miles from Pop Century. A taxi wouldn't cost but a few dollars (unless you asked them to wait). But then again, we've noticed a few taxi companies sitting in the parking lot.

We've used Garden Grocery twice and found their service/products to be fantastic! I love that we don't have to be there for our order to be delivered and that our orders were delivered accurately. We will be using them again this trip and wholeheartedly recommend them :)

We arrive on May 16th and I already ordered from GG. and paid for it. Now that part is out of the way.

The transportation board contains a taxi fare calculator and some travel times for areas near WDW.

We have used GG for the last three years and they have been great :) It was always there when we checked in, which is great for us. You do tho have to place a $40 order and the delivery fee is $12 but to us it was so much easier than having to get a taxi, go to the store, and get a taxi back.

Taxi is going to run about $15 to the Publix (closest place that comes to mind), the walmart is another 2 miles IIRC.

Publix is a great supermarket with a phenomenal bakery (for a grovery store). On our drive in, we always stop there and pick up snacks/drinks and breakfast food.

If I wasn't driving I'd probably use a delivery service. The time isn't that big of a factor compared, it's a short trip but the fact that it would probably cost more in taxi fees compared to ordering.

Peapod does a lot of grocery delivery, not sure if they service WDW though.
