groceries/sundries/soda at RPR?

we will be flying and styaing at RPR 3 nights in late nov. before 7 nights of free dining in WDW (got an awesome pincode for Univeral resorts in the mail!)

we will have refillable mugs at disney and all kinds of free food. do they sell 2 litre bottles of soa at the gift shop? bread, donuts or snacks?

trying to decide between a car service with a grocery stop or taxi or what. (we have only done magical express in the past).. we won't need much in the way of food, but we will need soda (for mixes for our cocktails, at least!)

universal doesn't have any version of refillable mugs, do they? thanks!

They have refillable mugs for something like 6.99, refills for something like 80 cents. And they are refillable at the parks (I don't think they are refillable at the resorts).

Remember that they don't have refrigerators in the rooms. There's the minibar, but that's not really a fridge, and if you take stuff out you might be charged for it. You can rent a fridge for something like (or more) $15/day. If you have a medical need for the fridge, though, then you can get the fee waived, but again, that's for a medical need.

Many people buy a styrofoam cooler, get ice from the ice machines, and keep it in the tub (so it doesn't leak on the carpet).



I'm not sure I've really answered your questions, LOL. I'm not sure what they sell, since we always have a car and hit Publix and Whole Foods before and during our stay.

thanks bumber! you drive to fla? I assumed you flew, and usually go to disneyland in calif. that's a LONG drive!!!

we usually drive, and we have never flown for a uni. trip. new complications. can't use magical express for the way down,. no car for groceries, but do mugs like at disney.. ah well , we'll figure it all out!

we were always amazed that for the prices you pay there isn't a mini fridge. (we have stayed at RPR 3 times, and hard rock once). no fridge at the Dolphin either. but now they have them at the value resorts at wdw.

guess we;ll be fine if we bring some granola bars for breakfast, and can buy a bag of snacks or 2. but I need soda for a mixer! (we bring plastic bottles of whiskey and vodka in our checked bags.)

last time we stayed at RPR we were magically upgraded to a king suite with our loewes card!!! what a treat!!!! not counting on that happening again! at hard rock quite a few years ago they were going to upgrade us to a pool view, but it was a nonsmoking room. and we smoked then.

I would have taken it, but hubby was a heavy smoker at the time. so we stuck with our smoking room in the basement. sigh.

now that we are over a year of NO SMOKING!!! YAY! we are requesting any tower except 1 (which is where we always had to be, cause that's where the smoking rooms were.

smidgy, when is the darkside stay?

the hotels do not have any program w/refillable mugs.
it's only at the parks.

there are soda machines in the hotel shops.


you drive most of your trips to orlando?
i did three trips driving and that was enough for me.

i fly now.
i hated the long drive .............

maybe it was fropm our loews card? we haven't been to Universal in a few years.. maybe they are trying to entice us back? we have gotten post cards in the mail before for deals, whch haven't fit into our plans. this time we decided to MAKE it fit! love royal pacific!!!
