Has anyone any experience of ordering groceries to be delivered to a hotel room in Walt Disney (port Orleans riverside is where we are staying), have read this is a good way to save a bit on drinks and snacks, possibly breakfast.
Does the hotel mind, can it be delivered before you arrive (we will arrive in the evening) and what sort of things would you recommend ordering?

We do it every year and it's not a problem. I ship all our drinks, any non disney snacky type foods or anything consumable that we may need gets shipped to the resort. I try to get an idea of the estimated delivery timescale and time my order accordingly. They will keep it for you with no issues at all, but I just feel expecting them to store my parcels for longer than they need to is probably bad form.

I normally use Amazon.com

I have no experience of ordering actual fresh groceries as we use the dining plan and don't need food as such, but many on here have done so without incident.

same as 2tiggies we have done this a few trips (three times at CSR/akl and Beach club) but we have always ordered with gardengrocer. Never had an issue. Usually schedule the delivery for our 'guestimate' time of arrival - if you're not there they keep the goods at bell services for you. We have never ordered milk and stuff but always order snacks, drinks, our USA favourite brands and fruit and have never had an issue. If you mention it upon arrival they will just bring it to your room with your luggage (we just increase our tip accordingly.) Many on the threads have had chilled and frozen goods delivered and these are kept for you at WDW too :)

We always use garden grocer and the service is great. I would be careful in the near future though with the fridge situation. We stay DVC and always have a full fridge freezer but there may not be fridges at POR at the moment

We have also used Garden Grocer and they have always been excellent. We have ordered milk and juice etc and it is held at bell services in a fridge until you arrive. Water is much cheaper purchased this way - about $9 for 32 bottles and you can get spring water not the filtered ones they sell in the parks. Good luck with your order and have a great trip!

We have used garden grocer and found it to be a great service. We bought some Pepsi products like wild cherry Pepsi which you can't get on property, beer that DH likes, snacks and all our toiletries.

We did twice on our last trip using garden grocer. If you add them on Facebook they have voucher codes every month.

Thank you all so much, I was thinking of using Garden grocer, will need to find out if port Orleans has fridges by October as I had hoped to get milk and cereal for breakfasts.

If you do add them on Facebook. Ask them they are really helpful and always reply quickly.

Agree with Garden Grocer as they are brilliant, so helpful, website is easy to use etc. they deliver to resort and bell services keep until we check in. Follow them on twitter and FB they give helpful tips on both social sites. We order milk, cereal, beer (cheaper than resort shop) and bottled water so we have cold water in room etc
