Can anyone tell me if there are grills at OKW? If so, are they charcaol or gas? If they are charcoal, is there anywhere nearby where we can purchase the charcoal and lighter fluid? We are taking MY mom and sister for their first Disney trip ever in just 3 days, and for Mother's Day we were going to have a nice Mother's Day BBQ! Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks so much!!

Charcoal grills are located at each of the neighborhood pools. Charcoal may be purchased at Conch Flats General Store right at the resort.

Have a great trip!

Thanks! I can't wait to get there and start soaking up the Magic! I also can't wait to tell my mother-in-law I got a reply from Webmaster Doc! You're a legend!

They are those heavy duty metal ones with the spring like handles that you see a lot at state parks and Interstate Rest Areas.. Matchlight charcoal works great for them.

Thanks Dean! We will give it our best shot. Do you know if grilling out there is popular? Will there be "competition" to use the grill? We are figuring that most people will eat the Mother's Day Brunch and not want to cook. Either way we are planning on having fun.

I've never been to a timeshare where the grills were a problem and I've grilled at OKW almost as much as I have at some of the Marriott's. The worst you'll have to do is wait till someone else gets done but then you can usually just use their coals and it'll be much quicker and cheaper. I can imagine it would be a problem with now only 1 at BWV. Besides, it's a good time to socialize, drink a beer, etc. And most people will just put yours on with theirs if there is room.

Don't forget to throw in some foil. You might want to cover the racks because you won't be able to wash them before you use them. Of course if your husband is like my husband he thinks the hot fire will burn anything off. Have a great time and enjoy the Magic! :wave2: :mickeybar :cool1:

They also make grill foil sheets, but I agree with your husband.

I agree to except for the rust. I like to still bring a brass brush paper towels and some pam cooking spray to clean off the stuff that easily comes off. I figure a "little" iron oxide won't kill us. ;)

There has always been a wire brush somewhere around when I needed one.
