Grilled chicken causes cancer?!?!?!

I know....if it were up to them, we'd live on air and nothing else......

I just read one word... GERALDO.... and decided to ignore the facts... :happytv:

They always seem to link cancer to different types of food. Chicken is good for us...no it's bad. Spinach is good for us....nope you can get ecoli. Pretty soon water will be bad for your health.

I admit that I did not read the link but, I think I read years ago, that when certain foods are grilled they produce a carcinogen. My guess is that chicken is one of them.

I think that only applies if you grill the food on an open flame. If you grill it on an indoor grill plate (like the kind that goes on your stove) or on a George Forman, it should be ok. :thumbsup2

I love grilled chicken too. We're having grilled chicken fajitas for dinner tonight.

Yea, I think it's supposed to be the grilling, not the chicken.

Unless we're willing to live on gathered wild nuts and berries, we're just gonna have to start living with some risks. I can't keep up with this anymore.

Next thing you know, it will be "carrots cause blindness."

According to the link; which btw was not a printed article but rather a link to the video, any chicken that is heated to 170 degrees or over, develops this carcinogen.

I agree with everyone else that if we listened to everything we were told, we wouldn't eat anything.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: That's what I thought of when I read the title of the thread -- but of course it does, *everything* does.

eh - this is old news. Bar-b-queing on a grill produces carcinogens on the charred meat. Hasn't stopped me from bbq-ing!

We're going to the Outback later tonight....and I already have plans to get my favorite....grilled chicken breast with garlic mashed potatoes.....F--- carcinogens and FIP......the seasoning on that chicken takes away the pain.....

I heard it was only from excessive uses of charcoal grilling??
