I've got a finicky little fferret who loves grilled cheese sandwiches. I saw somewhere that Beaches and Cream has them. Can y'all think of anywhere else? Table or counter?

Thanks :)

The Plaza in MK does.

Captain Cook's at the Poly has a gourmet version--an adult type--with several type of cheese.

The Brown Derby in DHS has grilled cheese on the kid's menu. My DD orders it all the time.

We've gotten a grilled cheese sandwich at pretty much every signature restaurant, 'Ohana, Le Cellier, TRex ...that's all I remember, but that's my son's favorite dinner so after next week I can update the list. ;)

I don't know of any counter service aside from Captain Cook's that offers a grilled cheese - someone once said Liberty Inn at Epcot did, but their menu doesn't reflect that. Earl of Sandwich used to do a gourmet version but it's not on the menu anymore.

Yes years ago I had a grilled cheese only guy- and we were able to get one everyplace we went.
Sometimes it meant asking for a cheeseburger without the beef - if they said we don't have grilled cheese. If it's not on the menu just ask. Most places will be happy to make one.

You can get them at every CS (or TS) restaurant that sells cheeseburgers.

Order a cheeseburger. Order it with an extra slice of cheese. Order it plain and "hold the meat".

Works like a charm.

Can be done in "real life" as well (McDonalds, etc.), once you convince the kid at the cash register to quit arguing with you and just make it exactly the way you ordered it.

Yeah, I had a picky kid too.......

You don't have to pay for a cheeseburger - just ask for a grilled cheese. We were there 2 weeks ago and got one at every counter service restaurant we went to. It cost about $1.20. They just melted cheese on a bun. My DS4 was thrilled!
The best real grilled cheese was at OHana - when my son only ate a couple bites, the adults all passed it around to taste it, b/c it was so good! It was a double-decker grilled cheese with an extra piece of bread in the middle and it had to have been made with real butter - yum!

That's awesome, thanks everybody!

We've got R&C and Ohana ADRs so that will definitely be requested. Glad to hear about the CS's too, as long as they serve cheeseburgers.

We've been to WDW three times now and never saw them being served... There's only so many PBJs and chicken tenders you can give your kids before you start fretting :)

Rose and Crown does... but only if you ask. It's not on the menu.

Yes, this is the thing - ask everywhere. Some places will tell you no because they don't have a grill, but if they can, they'll make it for you. At Yachtsman Steakhouse, they actually get them from Beaches & Cream! (or they used to as our servers told us)

Most places will happily make a grilled cheese sandwich. However, Prime Time Cafe DID NOT. My DD is a vegetarian who can't stand WDW's mac n cheese. We went to Prime Time a couple of years ago and the server told me that they couldn't make a grilled cheese and the ONLY vegetarian option for my DD was the yucky macaroni and cheese. I was so mad!

I'm not sure but I think the grilled cheese are all made with yellow cheese since that is what is on the burgers. Just an FYI as my finicky eater won't touch the yellow cheese, only white! He loves to make my life difficult!:rolleyes1

This was our experience, too. They told us it was because they didn't have a grill. I was surprised given that it's such a comfort food/home cooked sort of thing.

I appreciate this off-the-menu idea. Most any picky kid will eat a grilled cheese and it's nice to have something else to magically pull out after a few days of kids-menu food.

p.s. Any other great off-the-menu ideas for kids that you've used?
