Is grilled cheese something that's available at many/any of the QS options in the parks?

My toddler is quite the picky eater  and normal lunch options for her are grilled cheese, or sandwiches made with sunflower seed butter. I've checked out a few menus, and didn't really see it. Just curious if I'm missing some options!

There is a kids grilled cheese at captain cooks at the poly

Not seen it in most qs meals - usual is uncrustable, mac and cheese or nuggets.

Bring your sunbutter with you (if you don't want to fly with a glass jar then transfer it to a plastic food storage container. Either keep it in the fridge at your room or if no fridge bring along a small lunch box and keep it cool with baggies of ice. All the food courts sell bread either in a loaf or ala carte in the bakery section. Take a sandwich with you to the parks, and at lunch you can whip out your sandwich if she doesn't like anything on the menu. It won't spoil and it's pretty portable. Plus if she needs a snack before bed or by the pool you have an easy fix for her.

No, grilled cheese sandwiches are not part of the QS/Kids meals, neither will the sun flower seed butter. You can buy bread at the resort/hotel grocery stores, some carry lunchables and an assortment of cheeses so you can try to work something out. The problem is that even if you can get a grilled cheese from a food court like the POP, late or the next day I doubt she would find it very tasty cold.

You may want to bring with you crackers or other things you know she likes to eat that you can keep in your purse.

Good luck!

Captain Cooks at the poly, pool at the Grand Floridian and Earl of Sandwich Downtown Disney all have grilled cheese for kids. Not sure if Wolfgang pucks does or not. But havent came across them at the parks?

edited to add Rainforest cafe also. just checked the menu for the one at animal kingdom.

One other issue is can it be any grilled cheese or only one made from the same white bread (Disney sometimes uses whole grain) you have at home and the same cheese.

I too had a ds9 now ds20 son who is a picky eater. We went to Beaches and Cream and got him the hot dog. Well it came out grilled and kind of sliced up. Took one look and said no way and ate only the fries.

Good Luck

I found one place that has it listed!

I hope that helps, but it is only one place in Magic Kingdom. Also, I know it isn't quick service, but my nephew loves grilled cheese and the TS places we ate at were more than willing to do grilled cheese for a kids meal.

Maybe she would try peanut butter sandwiches if she already likes the sunflower seed butter ones? Maybe check out the menus of some QS places in advance. Some have things like pizza, grilled chicken, even teriyaki chicken in Japan, so there might be some other things she'll try hopefully :)

Will she eat a cheeseburger with no meat (just the bread and cheese)? We ordered these frequently in the parks when my son was younger. Luckily, he now eats the meat!

For my other picky son, we ordered either plain bread or a plain hamburger bun. I always carried a few Jif Singles peanut butter cups and made his sandwiches at the table. Add a side of fries and he had a meal that he would eat. You could do the same thing with sun flower butter. Just carry individual portions in small plastic containers.

Some of the sit-down restaurants can make things that aren't actually on their menus. For example, the Grand Floridian Cafe didn't have a PB sandwich on the menu. I ordered the bread and was prepared to make one when the server said it was on their room service menu and they could make it in the kitchen. Other places were able to make grilled cheese even if it wasn't on the menu. Just be prepared with an alternate plan in case they can't make what you need.

You can toast a couple of pieces of bread and have lunch at the Star light Cafe next to the Indy Racers. They have a container of hot cheese at the condiment counter.:thumbsup2

Beaches and Cream made us a grilled cheese sandwich with nothing else. Maybe some other places would even if it's not on the menu.

I'm pretty sure we got one for a DGC at Picabo, the cafeteria at the S/D.

My DH is a very picky eater and grilled cheese is on his elite list of things he WILL eat. We checked MK and the only place that served grilled cheeses was The Plaza but that needed a reservation. We stayed at Pop and on the last day he finally asked them to make one special and they did... in fact I think they made 3 for him as one meal. It's tough traveling with a picky eater :(

I would ask. I mean it is bread and cheese. You are not asking for something crazy! :goodvibes I am a picky eater myself and usually have to ask for w/o something! For instance, I love the italian sandwiches at the Studios. I think it is Rosies. I ask for it w/o pesto (YUCK) and add mustard. Never had a problem. Check the menu and as long as they have sliced bread you should be good! :) BTW my DS used to eat only chicken fingers, then mozz stix. All of a sudden he started ordering filet mignon. Quite a switch! :rotfl:

I think the issue is that very few if any park CS places have sliced white bread and even if they did and the cheese and butter, would have no way to make a grilled cheese.

At a CS they have limited resources, equipment and varied skill. Also, its easy to not put something on a sandwich.

I'm afraid the OP is going to have limited choices, if any, at the park CS places.

Check the menus on allears.net They are pretty accurate. I just looked and found a grilled cheese listed at Pinocchio Village house at MK. I have had the grilled cheese at Capt Hooks in the Poly. IMO you will be able to get a grilled cheese at any resort CS. They will have slice bread, cheese, butter and a grill! You may have a harder time at the parks but again.............It doesn't hurt to ask. Just be sure to have an alternate plan to keep your little one happy!

I wanted to add that we had lunch at Sci-Fi and I had marked on my reservations that we had a "special diet restriction"... I also emailed WDW 2 weeks prior to our visit to let them know what we were requesting. Well, they were unable to make a grilled cheese. They said they could put it on rye bread with swiss cheese (EW! DH said) so he ended up getting a cheese pizza there which was AWFUL! I even tried it and was very disappointed in the quality. It wasn't like the other pizzas in WDW... it tasted as though it was soggy and microwaved. Disgusting. I was disappointed and wondered why we even typed up that email to Disney :confused3

They always make one for my picky son at Ohana. He claims best grilled cheese ever!

You could probably get Boulangerie Patisserie in Epcot to take out the ham before melting the ham and cheese croissant. It would make a good grilled cheese, and is only $3.25.
