Grilled Cheese at WDW

My DDs had grilled cheese at Earl of Sandwich, and Beaches and Cream.

The EOS one was excellent. Even DD #1, who usually doesn't like grilled cheese, loved it enough that we had to go back for another dinner two nights later and she'll eat them at home now if I make them on rolls like they do at the restaurant.

The B&C one was probably the most awful grilled cheese I've ever seen. I couldn't have eaten it but DD #2 isn't particularly picky and will eat just about anything. Then again that entire meal was the worst I've ever had in 20+ Disney visits and I'll never go there again for anything except ice cream (the No Way Jose was amazing!) so I'm not surprised.

I wanted to add that we had lunch at Sci-Fi and I had marked on my reservations that we had a "special diet restriction"... I also emailed WDW 2 weeks prior to our visit to let them know what we were requesting. Well, they were unable to make a grilled cheese. They said they could put it on rye bread with swiss cheese (EW! DH said) so he ended up getting a cheese pizza there which was AWFUL! I even tried it and was very disappointed in the quality. It wasn't like the other pizzas in WDW... it tasted as though it was soggy and microwaved. Disgusting. I was disappointed and wondered why we even typed up that email to Disney

I'm curious, did you send an email asking for a grilled cheese sandwich as part of a special diet restriction? I can't see how this would work.

Some TS places can create other meals from what they have on hand, not put something in or replace it with something else(like margarine instead butter), but I don't think they will bring in special items for a meal. What you were probably offered was the Stacked Sandwich without everything but the swiss cheese.

How did Disney respond to your email?

Also, probably what your DH got was a prepackaged kosher meal.
