Grill Cleaning ?

 are you talking the grates or everywhere else?

I turn my grill on to high - let it heat up then scrape the grates with a wire brush for grills and they come clean everytime -
otherwise I don't do anything.

This is from the "Queen of Clean" web site:

Barbecue Cleaning Tips
To clean the outside of the grill, use Go-Jo Waterless Hand Cleaner, available at most hardware stores and home centers. Rub it onto the outside of a cool grill with an old rag. Work it into the metal well, then buff with paper towels. Use a little extra elbow grease and Go-Jo to remove grease and barbecue sauce. It not only cleans, it leaves the grill looking shiny and new.

The easiest way to clean the grill rack is to place it in a garbage bag, lay paper towels under and over it and saturate them with ammonia and water (mixture of 2/3 ammonia and 1/3 water). Close the bag tightly and leave overnight, if possible. Open the bag (Keep your face back -- the fumes are strong) and scrub the grill with the ammonia-soaked paper towels and a soap-filled steel wool pad, if necessary. Rinse well with the garden hose. Put back on the grill and heat for 5 minutes to remove odor and chemicals.

Cleaning the grill right after cooking is simple if you take a piece of aluminum foil and ball it up. Rub the warm, NOT hot, grill with this, then toss the foil in the trash when done. No more messy brushes to clean

My mom cleans our grill grates by using some balled up foil and scrubbing the grill with it (using tongs!!).

Thank you for the tips. I had gone through two wire brushes, and those things aren't that cheap. I will try the foil ball the next time.

Our grates are cast iron, so we basically heat up the grill, then use a wire brush dipped in hot water to scrub clean. The DH brushes on crisco oil and turns the grill back on to re-season.

Before we got our grill with the cast iron grates, I use to clean our old ones in our self cleaning oven.

I Just tried the tin foil ball method and it worked like a charm! Thanks for the suggestion.

There was some awesome information today on the MSN videos. Go to http://www.msn.com and go to video section. They change periodically during the day, but you can always search using the word "grill."
