Hi, Does anyone know the reason Greenberg will not be returning to Ft Wilderness after 2017? Also, who is comparable in rvs? Thank you

Not sure of a reason. Southalabama5er and I were just talking about it as he had heard the same thing.

My guess is they are not an official Disney Endorsed retailer. Since Disney now lists (I think 3) options on the website, they're going to block all others.

I put in a call to Greenberg as there is no information posted on their website regarding this. I got the usual recorded message so I left my information. I'll see if they call me back and if so I'll try and find out something.

They had two posts on their facebook last night and they are gone today so not sure what is going on. We are going to rent from them again but kinda wondering whats going on.

This makes perfect sense. I bet it's close to the truth.

If those companies went to the trouble (or worse yet paid something which no doubt is passed on to their renters) to become endorsed service providers and didn't get a big bump in business, this is a logical next step. I bet they went on the DIS, saw other rental companies were getting mentioned as much or more as them, and turned the question back to Disney. Disney probably has to let the other providers continue to deliver until their agreement expires (hence the 2017 deadline) but I bet you're right: Disney will only allow those three endorsed rental companies on the Fort property to deliver, set up, and take down after the 2017 deadline passes.

Good thought, caitlin.

Putting on my Tin Foil Mouse Ears.

So I am going to start taking bets that Disney will be offering trailer rentals in the near future. Eliminate negative reviews/ ratings due to vendor/ outsider issues. More control on what and how units can be installed on property. Disney themed trailers upgrades to the trailer. Disney sees these companies coming and going constantly. The advertisement on some of the trailers. This means a revenue stream or profit center for the Fort.

One thing Disney is good at is controlling the guest's experiences. Guests have a certain expectation of Disney. Disney has said this on numerous documentaries and shows (i.e. the hour long what is really an infomercial for Disney resorts, cruises and other offerings.) which can be watched on the Travel channel and the like. With Disney offering the trailer, you can bet they will offer a tier right between the Camp sites or BYOT and the cabins. You can bet the mice in accounting have already run the numbers for the trailers, staff to maintain the trailer, number/ types of trailer. People will pay the premium for Disney experience including "camping under the stars" in your character themed bunk room for the kids.

Just saying. I'm now all ears for the resident disboard member TRS has any input about said actions taken by Disney.

Yup TRS will be along to help us figure this out soon enough. He's probably gathering all the facts up now,

Has anyone had good luck with them. Looking at renting a camper for my mom to join us at the fort next Christmas. I was hopping to get her in the same loop as us just to tight in our rv with 2 teenagers and 2 dogs and 2 adults. Am I better to rent with one that disney has on their site any help would be great. I can always do a resort or cabin.

We rented from them for a week in June and it was great. brought our little Pomeranian and had a wonderful vacation!

No call back so far from them.

If they are pulling messages off FaceBook, you're probably not getting a call back.

True that. But my message was inquiring about making a rental. I didn't give any details.
I hear a lot of positive responses on them here on the boards. Be a shame to lose them if this is the case.

Oh okay, gotcha.

Yep they do a lot of business at the Fort. When I was there last time one morning they were towing trailers out on the day people checked out to the Hitch/Un-Hitch zone and parking them in the grass on either side. Later that morning they were rolling them back down to new sites to position them for new customers. Didn't even have to haul them off property.

Sorta like swapping Kenny's golf carts.

I had called them two weeks ago about a rental for February. They were very short, telling me they weren't renting more than 6 months in advance. When I explained my days were less that 180 days out. They said "we aren't doing rentals" for February. It was a very short response, bordering on rude. We decided to go with someone else and now it all makes sense.

We just rented from them (July 27-30, 2016). From our experience, I would highly recommend them! They came with our camper 15 minutes after we called them and told them our site was ready. They were very friendly and professional. They did not have the pet fence we requested so they promptly had it delivered by another employee. The camper was spotless and the bed was comfy. We really enjoyed our stay! My sister-in-law rented from the same time as we did, and she also has no complaints!

I called and got the same thing that are not renting more than 6 months out but all the rentals were full for next Christmas 2017. Not sure what is going on I'm just going with one that Disney as listed on their site for my mom.

I don't know, RVs are strange creatures and require some specific knowledge to maintain properly. One screw up and word would get around ("Hey Mickey didn't clean out the black water tank from the last guy!!") At any rate if they want to throw out the rental companies completely, nothing stopping you from renting on the outside and towing it in right??

We rented from Fort Camper Rental a number of times and were sad to see them go. He hinted that this was coming. Although I own a trailer myself, the loss of Fort Camper prompted us to try the cabins and frankly we won't be going back to an RV at FW.

So they posted yesterday that this is because Disney is no longer allowing any parking of trailers in overflow (which might affect some people here as well ... but anywho). They said it was 20 min each way for them to take a trailer and then return to the campground. To get this done and be off property by Disney's 11am checkout time is not feasible if they have a lot of reservations. So they would still be renting, but they would have to limit when and all. (hopefully that makes sense).
