Hi, just checking out GWL and am seeing rates of $299 per night. This is a "special" Just wondering if prices go lower than that?? Thanks

I live in Williamsburg and can get a locals discount for $169 for a family suite. But you must have proof of residence.

We went last Jan to the one in Mason, OH and paid $229/night for two nights through the week just after the end of Christmas vacation rates. It was brand new and well worth it for our family of five!

I've never gotten it but when I was researching a feb night away they had 169/night in Sandusky, OH.

We are staying this Sunday and are paying 170.00 for a family of 6 water park level in a family suite.

I went on January 1st, family of (5)....i booked it for a Christmas present back in Sept.'06 and my original rate was $339. 1 month before i left i saw the prices DROPPED and when I called up they said they would most certainly honor it and gave me $255. THRILLED! I live in NJ so we went to the Poconos PA GWL and I see the rates in PA are usually higher than VA because we opted for that one as well. My kids missed going back to school on Jan. 2nd but this helped us because the lodge was not packed.

My friend is in PA tonight ...her rate is $399 friday night into Sat. family of (4)

Last weekend I booked 2 nights at the Williamsburg GWL. Thursday night is at $139, Friday night at $164. It looks like in September every Sunday-Thursday night is at the $139 rate. The only other month that has $139 rates is December.

Ok after reading this thread I am livid! We paid 330 in July for a family suite 6 people ( Monday night). In two weeks we are paying 589 for kids suite for 6 ( Sat)! How is possiable you guys got these so cheap? We always go to Pocono because we live near Binghamton NY.

from what I can see the PA one is the most expensive one.. of course its an hour from me.. I was looking at rates tonight. I need a mini vacation but I dunno if I'm ready to pay almost 300$ a night... seems.. I dunno WRONG to pay that much??

Yes Poconos is the one i went to as well. Definitely higher rates. I havent heard any low low rates for PA. 6 people on a Sat. night in 2 weeks is conisidered spring break and peak times so while i see your price is outragous its the same as if you went to Disney during Christmas. My one night was $255 but that was Sunday 1/1 going into Monday 1/2...I went out of my way to so call inconvenience the family to get that price....DH used vacation and 2 of my kids missed a day of school. Actually i went more out of my way to avoid the crowds as well.

Do check the current rates right up until you go...if it does drop they will honor it. Have fun!

I work for the state and we don't get much. But, we had a meeting there last Sept and they offered us a rate of $68 a night for that weekend. We totally grabbed it! I'm hoping we have another weekend there this Sept!

Just a heads up for anyone who might be thinking of going to the new one in Mason, Ohio, I live in the area, and it's been all over the news about guests and employees alike getting sick while in the building, and they have NO CLUE as to why it's happening. So yeah, you may want to avoid it for awhile until they figure it out. ;)

What's the advantage of being on the water park level?

You don't have to take the elevator or stairs to get to the waterpark. W/P level isn't really a necessity IMO, I would save the money and get a room on a different level.

We just stayed at the Kalahari Resort in Sandusky, OH. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an alternative to Great Wolf. We got an excellent deal even though it was Spring Break week in Ontario and the hotel was very full. For $ 189.00 a night we received, accommodation in a nomad room (2 queen beds, pull out couch, microwave, fridge), 2 days water park passes, breakfast for 4, pizza & drinks for 4, $ 20.00 game tokens, mini put for 4, fudge from the candy hut, 2 cups of coffee, free appetizer & 20% spa services.

Wisconsin Dells is normally $279 in the summer for a family of two adults, two children. In the winter $179 weekends, $139 weekdays.

Wisconsin's was expensive 10 years ago, but they are dealing with a lot of competition now-vs. the lower rates finally.

Sign-up on their web page and you can keep track of specials and rates.
