Great weather, great food, great trip: 6/22-6/29 (LOVED IT!)

That's so funny! Where were you? We were 2nd floor of 60s building 3rd from the end past the kiddie pool. There's another poster (and trip report) from a family that was there too and they were two floors above me :rotfl:

Carole

We were in the 50s section, second floor jukebox building facing a parking lot/treed area. Not what I asked for. I wanted 50's, Tramp building facing the water. Oh well.

Day 3 Part 1 (Wednesday, 6/24):

I get up at my usual time and shower at 6:30am. After I'm out and basically ready I wake up everyone else (around 7:30am.)

We arrived at MK, went through security and were through the turnstiles before 9am.

Here's a picture of Joe and the kids after we went through security:

The little opening show was still going on, but I couldn't wait for it to end because we were all packed in that area like cattle. I couldn't wait to be able to walk under the train station.

We decide we are not going to get side tracked by the characters in the square, we would come back and get them later. Our goal is to get to BTMRR. As the crowd is heading down Main St., I said no way, we are going to walk through the Emporium, cut through Liberty Square to that raft/deck walkway and go that way to BTMRR/SM area. Obviously, we were the only ones who thought to do this.

Here are some pictures of our walk:

See, nobody but us. Now here's a picture once we walk out of Casey's and I look over toward Main St.

We didn't have to deal with the crowd and we got a burst of cool air for our walk.

We did start to hit a crowd, but it was moving - everyone was doing what we were so it wasn't that bad. We get back to the "that" crazy area and BTMRR wasn't open yet, so the kids and I jump in line. (A line formed from where the stand by entrance is, we were not quite back to the bridge, but were definitely not at the front either. So while the kids and I wait in line, Joe goes over and gets FPs for SplMtn and then he gets back to us line. Not sure of the hold up, but eventually the line opens up and we starting going through the queue. There was absolutely no wait.

Here we are in our spots for BTMRR:

Disney2009120.jpg

There was no one behind up for a minute or 2. Dan and Kerry rode in the back while Joe and I were right in front of them.

After BTMRR, the kids wanted to ride SM, but I didn't want to and neither did Joe. I didn't want to get as wet as I did on our first day so early in the day. I told the kids if the wait is 10 minutes or less they could ride it. They ran over to see the stand by line and it said 10 minutes, so off they went while Joe and I went into the Briar Patch Store. Killed a little time in there and then went and sat on the benches outside the bathrooms by the SM exit.

At this time, my Mom had called and said that they has just arrived at the park, so we went and met them. I wanted to ride Peter Pan, PP is my favorite ride and there is always a crazy long wait for it. I think we ended up waiting about 25 minutes to ride, but I didn't care! After PP, we jumped on IASW. After IASW, we were walking toward Tomorrowland via Fantasyland. Of course the minute the kids see the Tea Cups, they want to ride them. I don't do Tea Cups and neither does Joe. We have no problems waiting while they ride them tough - so that is what we do. They can really get that cup spinning now!

While the kids were riding the Tea Cups, Joe walked over and got FPs for Buzz. After the kids got off of the Tea Cups, it was 11:30am and we decided to have an early lunch. We didn't stop to have breakfast anywhere (just ate the snacks we brought with us, so we were all hungry!)

Since we are right there, we decide to eat at Cosmic Rays. No one is there, we have our pick of tables and no wait to order what we want to eat.

Coming up next - our afternoon at MK followed by dinner at Kona!

Day 3 Part 2:

After we had our lunch, we headed over to Buzz to use our FPs. Of course Joe beat everyone else's score! That's ok, I'll get him at TSM!

Once we got out of Buzz, we decided to see how the line for the Laugh Floor was. Since there was hardly a wait, maybe 10 minutes, we decided that we would see the show. I really like Roz, she cracks me up! After Laugh Floor was over, my Mom and Aunt went back to their room because their cousin was coming to meet up with them and spend the next day. She also was coming to dinner with us at Kona.

As for Joe, the kids and me, we decided that we would spend the rest of the day in MK, have dinner at Kona and then go back to the hotel and go swimming.

We said our good-byes and then headed back over to the Tea Cups because we had missed Alice and White Rabbit and thought we'd get over there to see if they were back out. Yup, they were, but we were in for a special treat! White Rabbit was there, but Alice wasn't - this is who we saw instead!!! Very, very special. :thumbsup2

Yahoo - Queen of Hearts! It's been awhile since we have seen her! After our picture, we went and rode the Stitch ride again - Dan likes it!

After Stitch, we walked back over to SM to use of FPs. After we rode SM, the kids got their picture taken with Frontier Goofy! It was very hot waiting in the line to see him, there was absolutely no shade - thank God for our little handheld fans!

Disney2009149.jpg

After Goofy, we headed over to ride Aladdin's Carpets. This is another one that Dan likes.

It was time for a break/snack, so I decided that I wanted one of these:

Disney2009150.jpg

And let me tell you, it was G-O-O-D! The kids never had one before, so I let them try a small sample of mine and they decided that they liked it too, so they got 1 to share!

Disney2009151.jpg

I just love this picture of Kerry, her face cracks me up:

Disney2009153.jpg

I just love when the kids take a picture of me while I am either eating or drinking something (that's me sticking my tongue out of which ever child took that picture):

Disney2009160.jpg

Now that we are cooled off and refreshed, we made our way over to get pictures and autographs with Jasmin and Aladdin.

Disney2009162.jpg

It was starting to get closer to our ADR time, but it was still too soon to start making our way over to the Poly. Joe suggested that we go see Mickey's Philharmagic! It was a perfect suggestion - no wait and it was cool inside. For the longest time Dan did not like this show and there was no way I could enjoy it if he was complaining the whole time. Thankfully he is over that - he really liked it!

When we came out of Mickey's Philharmagic, we decided that we should head over to the Poly for our 6:20pm ADR.

Coming up.... our dinner, it was yummy! Also, we rode in the front of the monorail....

Great updates! I just love being at the MK. It makes me feel like a little kid again.

Thanks - I know exactly what you mean when you say MK makes you feel like a little kid again, it does the same to me! :thumbsup2

Great updates! I just love being at the MK. It makes me feel like a little kid again.

Day 3 Part 3:

After Mickey's Philharmagic, we left MK to head over to the Poly for our dinner at Kona. We decided to take the monorail over to the Poly. As we were walking up the ramp, our monorail was pulling up.

Disney2009168.jpg

Dan ran ahead and asked if we could sit up front and since there was no one else doing it, they said sure! Here's a couple of picture of us in the front of the monorail:

Disney2009171.jpg

It is definitely cool riding in the front. We actually had a very nice talkative driver. We usually end up with the driver who acts like they are doing us a favor by letting up be up front, so it was a nice change!

By the time we got to the Poly, we were a little early for our 6:20 ADR and my Mom and Aunt weren't there yet, so we walked around and took some pictures by the beautiful plants in the lobby.

Kerry ordered the Shrimp & Scallops and said that they were very good, but the best part for her was her dessert. I believe what she had was the Kilauea Torte, basically it is the same thing as the chocolate wave that Coral Reef has but it doesn't have any liquor in it.

Disney2009186.jpg

Joe had he Teriyaki-style Strip steak. He said it was very good and he also had the same dessert as Kerry and said that was the best dessert of the trip.

I had the Pan Asian Noodles with chicken and shrimp. I had absolutely no problems clearing my bowl. I thought it was tasty. For dessert I had the Banana Chocolate Creme Brulee. Yummy! I probably would of liked what Kerry and Joe had but since Dan didn't want a dessert and I thought he might wants some once he saw all of us with something, I got the creme brulee because he doesn't like chocolate (hard to believe he is a part of our family!)

Dan ordered off the kids menu, he had Chicken Noodle Soup. I believe that he had a hamburger, but I am not a 100% sure. He ate it whatever it was though.

After a lovely dinner, we said good night to my Mom and Aunt and then made our way back to MK on the monorail and then walked over to the buses and took the bus back to BWV. Once we returned to BWV, we all put our swim suits on and headed to the pool. We finished off the evening with swimming, but we wanted to go to bed at a decent time because we were hitting DHS tomorrow and wanted to be there for RD to do TSM!!!

Next up, our fun filled day at DHS, packed with tons of characters....
