I teach an animal behavior class, and our current favorite "scientific term for a little idea" is kleptoparasitism.....that is when you steal (usually food) from a member of your own troop. So, my three DDs engage in kleptoparasitism when they steal one another's clothes.....makes it sound SO much more dramatic than "hey, you stole my shirt"!
We also like that sometimes it is easier to take a contrarian position (just go to the other feeder) than duke it out with your competitors. My DS must be a contrarian because he doesn't engage in kleptoparasitism with his sisters.
Now, if I could only find a plethora of contrarians to share my newfound jocularity during this autumnal season! Balderdash, I guess I will just stick to copious kleptoparasitism, and when caught, blame my sonambulism.
