Great steaks?

Also the steak and shrimp I had at Teppan Edo was amazing, another must do for us now at WDW.

The best steak I have had is at Concourse Steakhouse which is closing on May 31st but I heard this morning that they are going to have the same steak and the new Wave restaurant at the Contemporary. So it all depends on when you are going. That is what I would recommend though.

I should also add that I only started eating steak last year and so I haven't really had a trip where I have had the chance to eat a lot of steak. We are going in September on DxDDP and I plan to order steak a lot. When are you going?

Sorry, I know this is :offtopic: , but I had to comment on this. Your comment on just starting to eat steak made me chuckle, because I am kind of in the same boat. I've only just started to eat steak in the past couple of years...and now...I can't get enough of it! I don't know your reasons for not eating it in the past, but mine was just that it seemed so...barbaric! Then I tried it...and you can't get me to NOT eat steak. Just the other night me and DBF went to dinner and he actually said to me "Steak again? Why not try a burger or something?" :rotfl:

We are going in mid Nov, so quite awhile yet before we go! :( Oh well, will be here soon enough I guess. But now, every time I read this thread, I really start craving a steak! Mmmmm! ::yes::

How do any of you eat your steaks? I always go for med. rare! :thumbsup2 Except with prime rib, that can be more med. and still taste good. I can't imagine there being any flavor in a steak well done at all. That just seems to make it tougher and take all the point away of great beef! :goodvibes

Noticed at CalGrille that the Oak Fired Filet of Beef seemed to be the only steak choice....It looked like it came with a sauce...For those that know this restaurant, can you request the Filet of Beef without the sauce?

On the child's menu, looks like they have a Filet as well...would have to think that one is without sauce and "plain"...If the child is considered an "adult" for
Dining Purposes and the child chooses the steak from the kids menu and on the Deluxe Dining Plan, I would imagine the child can still order an appetizer from the adult menus??????

Thanx for any input on the filet at Cal Grille.......

Okay, this is my last on this page for today, I've asked several questions in a row here! :rolleyes1 I'm looking for a place to have a delicious steak, somewhere you just loved! But, somewhere casual, not too fancy or dressy of a place, or extremely expensive, just something really good we can go to in our park clothes. Sometimes that's hard to get, you can sometimes make a better steak at home on the grill!

Thanks, again! :goodvibes

The best steak on property is at Shula's but it does not meet the rest of your criteria. The best steak that we have had at WDW that meet your critiera would be LeCellier located in the Canadian pavillion in EC. It is a tough ADR to get so call 180days.

This last trip I had steak at:

Rose and Crown: New York Strip Very tasty and quite tender.
Maya Grill: Ribeye! I was very pleased.
Narcoosees: Filet....butter soft and yummy.
Le Cellier: I usually get the Prime Rib (which is a roast not a steak), but my wife loves the mushroom filet.

Off the top of my head I would vote Narcoosees today.

Now that Le Cellier charges $34.99 for their steaks, it's only a few $ cheaper than the Signature restaurants. That's definitely something to consider for those paying OOP. It's now an even better deal for those with DDP though.

True but if people are on the DDP the Yachtsman or Jiko is going to run you two credits compared to one at LeCellier.

If cost or the DDP is not in play any someone wants a great steak experiance then Shula's wins hands down IMHO. We will be there in just a couple of weeks for our third meal. It is an expensive meal but worth every penny.

We enjoyed Brown Derby, LeCellier, and Calif Grill. This trip we are trying Artist Pointe and Yachtsmen SH. We are steakaholics and if we could get away with it, would eat it every day! lol

Interesting reading others comments and suggestions on which cuts to order and where. I've eaten at Schula's in Palm Beach (now closed) and was very unimpressed with the quality of the beef used.

Kona Cafe's filet mignon was like butter when family and I ate there last week. If you want a casual dinner with a nice menu try Kona Cafe!

The Prime Rib is very nice at the Kona also, but, the best is the Tonga Toast.

Yes, yes, they aren't steak....but they are good!
