your rate is pretty much in line....

michael's was a 5 day rental which means he was not hit with additional tire and battery tax and licence recovery

that is why his rate was 97$~

OK, I am on the National web site and I am trying to book a car for August 21st pickup 9:30pm through August 29th dropoff 8:00 am.

The best that I am getting is $271 with the priceless and entertainment codes. This is a bummer. I wonder if I am too close to my dates. This is for an intermediate car.

I am assuming that joining the emerald club doesnt give you anymore of a discount....am I correct?

emerald club discount is typically 10%, so not different from the 10% you get from priceless ( if you are using that code ) but, then again you gain since priceless usually gets the concession fee knocked off...so the actual percentage with priceless is higher

Only getting rates at about $267 with the 6600330 and entertainment $20 off. 8 days

Was able to use a 20% off coupon from entertainment, got a full size for $178.31 on BUDGET.

It pays to hop around and try all the discounts you can!

The EB coupon specifies the code you must book under. The computer system is not currently checking for "illegal" coupon/code combinations. Read the fine print on the EB coupon, it isn't supposed to be used with the Priceless contract code.

It has not checked for years and it is the one rental company that seems to allow this lapse.

Which Entertainment Coupon are you using with Priceless code to get the 5 day rates so cheap? I have a 5 day rental in October but all I get from the system is a weekly rate - and it's not coming down any lower than $189.42. Now that's not too bad but I have one for December that's only $147.32 and I like the lower price better of course Then again, maybe it's how they measure days?? We won't pick up our car until 10:30 pm on Wednesday, 10/27 and will drop it off at 11:00 am on Monday, 11/1. It's less that 5 24 hour periods but if they go midnight to midnight, I guess it's 6. Rental cars rates just drive me batty

They run in 24 hour cycles from the time you pick up your car.
To have had a 4 day rental you would have had to drop it off by 10:30pm on Sunday. You are returning it on Monday, so, it flipped you into a 5 day rental.
I used the 20.00 off coupon from the entertainment book. 10008615.
The rates seem to drop about a month before your arrival, keep checking.
I now have a ten day rental, standard size car all taxes for 176.40. I am not going to complain about that, especially since I tried to modify my 8 day with Alamo and it went WAY over this amount.

Found it at www.rentalcodes.com on the National page. There are a whole bunch of codes but this one gave me the best rate.

I just checked my rates again for a 2 day (weekend) rental in Sept. It has dropped again! With the Priceless code and the Entertainment Club upgrade coupon, the daily rate for a standar is $16.16! In the course of one month, this rate has dropped 27%! I like it, I like it!!
