Older ds7 wants to spend more time in epcot next trip but I need some ideas on nice attractions or places to hang out with 2 year old little brother! Older ds will ride test track, Ellen, mission space etc using rider swap so we need some suggestions to keep little brother other occupied. In particular trying to find things with ds2 that older brother isnt interested in doing, but will take suggestions for any play spaces appropriate for ds2 world showcase spots for him, stuff in future world, anything. I know there is a jumping fountain somewhere but don't know where that is. Thanks for the help. I know we will do the nemo ride and turtle talk with ds2 as ds7 isn't interested in those. Any spots in innoventions good for a 2yo? Thanks.

When we went a few years ago, my son was 5 and my daughter wasn't quite 2 (she turned 2 a month after we went).

She loved the Nemo ride and Turtle Talk. There were a lot of things in the Innovation areas that she could do and did enjoy. She liked the Spaceship Earth (is that what it's called...the "golf ball" she called it). You can do that Land of the Living. We didn't do that last time due to time constraints. Journey into Imagination was another one.

Journey into Imagination will either transfix your child, or terrify him/her. It's really not that annoying for grownups, but you know how kids are, some of them run to Mickey like he's their best friend, others scream bloody murder when they see him. But if he loves it, it's a great way to kill time over there. Plus there's a play area when you exit it.

Oh, and the jumping fountains are outside Imagination/EO in the courtyard ... and they are always fun. We used to stand on the planters and try to smack them as they came towards us. Really fun if you hit it right and soak your friends standing below you ... not so much fun if you miss and take a water bolt to the face. :lmao:

Definitely Nemo. You could probably spend an hour at the aquarium after you get off the ride. Who doesn't love a giant aquarium.

There is a water fountain play area near Test Track, but be sure to bring dry clothes to change into later. The jumping fountains are up the stairs by the Imagination Pavilion.

Test Track and Mission Space have play areas inside at the end of the ride. To get to them, go through the merchandise shops. Innoventions is a nice air-conditioned area to hang out in and play. Living with the Land is a nice slow boat ride, if you are waiting for the others in your party to ride Soarin'.

The World Showcase has kidcot stops. Some of the countries have street shows. The drummers in Japan were a hit when my DS was 2.

Thank you! I did not know test track and me had play areas inside. I will look for those next time. And well see the jumping fountains by figment. Great suggestions everyone! Thanks!

Can I piggyback (sorry OP- thanks for posting this question!)

Are these fountains/splash areas open in January if it's fairly warm or are they closed? Anyone know?

If you go during the spring for the Flower and Garden Event, there's a kids play area set up between Figment and the World Showcase (this year was Monsters U themed), as well as a butterfly garden whose location jumps around from year to year.

Yup - jumping fountains are open year round. Not positive about the splash pads. I don't remember them ever being closed, but that doesn't mean they're always open.

Just another vote for the play area at the end of Mission Space. It's perfect for little ones.
The boat ride in Mexico is fun, as is Maelstrom unless you think your son would be afraid of the trolls. At 2 my son looooved Mo'Rockin band in Morocco. Ride the boat across world showcase lagoon. There's a ton of stuff in innoventions he can do and will enjoy.
Surprisingly Epcot was probably my son's favorite park when he was 2 and 3.

I forgot about the flower and garden play areas! That is perfect. Ds7 will be too old /big for them but it will be perfect for my little one. Perfect for when ds7 does test track or Ellen. Thanks! Mission space sounds like it will work well too since it has a play area good for my 2yo.

When my daughter was 2, her biggest thrills at Epcot were meeting Tigger and Pooh, and, most of all, frolicking in the fountains that shoot out fo the sidewalks. There are some in the walkway between Future World and World Showcase. The first time, it took us by surprise and she was a wet mess because we didn't plan ahead. After that, we left the hotel room with her in a bathing suit covered up by clothes. Once at the park and she found the fountains, the clothes came off, the water shoes were put on, and she splashed around for a good long time and made many friends doing the same thing. When she was done, we took her to a bathroom, toweled her off, removed the bathing suit and re-applied the clothes. She was in heaven.

When we took my grandson, at the time age five, for his first trip, he merrily rode Spaceship Earth six times in seven days (four times in one day) with his mother and sometimes others. He loved everything about it and was probably the only kindergartener in northwest Ohio who knew the Phoenicians invented the alphabet! He loved seeing the stuff at the end as well. He picked the endings all by himself.

And now, my husband and I do Spaceship Earth just for him.

My son's favorite spot in Epcot is the aquarium and play area when you get off the Nemo ride.

Innoventions is also a nice air conditioned spot for them to run around a little bit.

The Character Spot is good although your 7yo may not want to miss that.

Believe it or not, my son could ride the boat around the world showcase lagoon all day long (he likes to sit outside in the back).

I think WS is a wonderful place of toddlers...They can go to the kidcot stations and color and get their "stick puppet" stamped. There are M&Gs at various countries with different characters. Lots of street entertainment to watch. At one of the outposts there are drums they can bang on. The mexico boat ride will be fine for a 2 yo. Listening to the British Invasion music at the gardens in England is fun and little ones like to dance along to music. It's just nice to stroll around and stop and see the sights that interest you.

DS didn't like Imagination ride when he was little. Still doesn't. However, at the end of the ride there's an interactive area that little ones enjoy...you don't have to go on ride to get to it I think you can enter through the gift shop - just ask CM. Same holds true for the interactive areas at end of Living Seas and Test Track rides - you can enter them through gift shops instead of having to go on ride.

Living with the Lad ride is also good for a toddler...may not be that exciting but it's an easy ride with things to look at.
