I was double checking our flight plans over the weekend and discovered that our flight time had been changed. We were leaving at 6AM originally but they changed it to 5:40AM! Well that did not make me very happy! I am not a morning person to begin with but had talked myself into enjoying the wonder of a take off sunrise but a dark take off and even earlier was not doing a thing for me! Plus we were scheduled to go into Atlanta and change planes after a long lay over.

So DH suggested I call and see what they would do for me. Normally they charge for any changes and I was not going to pay to change it but..... ............... ............
because they had made the original change they put us on a later nonstop flight and did not charge us a penny! Plus we will get in at the exact same time! Oh yeah it feels good!

Great - Airtran is good that way. Once I wanted to change a time and expected to pay but the flight departure changed by 6 minutes. The agent noticed that and made my change from AM to PM at no charge!

It's been my experience that if an airline changes your flight plan without notice, they're usually pretty good about putting you on a flight that suits your needs and NOT charging you for it.

I went to RDU last summer, and they changed our flight with no prior notice. (Good thing I was re-checking the itinerary!) I called and they put me on a different flight without any problem.
