Great new look, question about sharing threads to social media?

What does it mean that you can now share a post to facebook, reddit, etc. - will people's avatars, names, etc show up on facebook if someone decides to link a thread?

Just wondering.

I shared one to Twitter and another to Facebook and my name and avatar did not show up in either post; just the link to what I shared.

We've had that ability previously, but it wasn't as obvious. As WebmasterJackie says, it posts to the other social media as a link. DISboards is open to anyone, with or without an account, to read - so anyone who comes across the boards can see avatars, usernames, etc. anyway.
