Hopefully this isn't already out here a hundred times...
Last year I gave my Daddy the best present he said he ever had.
1. Write down 52 of your favorite memories for this person on separate pcs. of paper. For example, when I was little I used to sing the words to Jingle Bells wrong - I sang "one horse broke his leg" instead of "one horse open sleigh. Another example is when I plugged the toilet with so much paper I flooded the bathroom, at 2:30 am. 3rd example was my dad & uncle used to make the best maple syrup ever in our farm's sugar shack. Just write these fond memories down.
2. Shop around for cheap items for a few of the memories - For example - I found lyrics to Jingle Bells and I whited out the open sleigh & typed in broke his leg. Of course I also picked up a roll of toilet paper and a very small jug of maple syrup.
3. Fold all the memories up and number them. Put them into a pretty little box, canister, etc. Now wrap & number the presents to correspond with the memory. (For example - #1 may be the maple syrup memory so the maple syrup gift would be #1 as well.)
5. Write a letter instructing the recipient that starting on Christmas Day, they are to randomly pull a memory from the box once a week. If it's a memory with the present, the present is to be opened first and they are to try and figure out what's written on the paper.
Daddy & I both loves this - me making it for him and him enjoying it! He's kept all the memories & presents since!
Enjoy!
