Great Last Minute Changes

Okay, not really last minute...BUT since January we have been planning our 12 Day Sept/Oct trip and we had only been able to afford Caribbean Beach Resort..but due to a couple of extra bucks in our pocket, we made a HUGE game-changing decision yesterday. We used to go every year, sometimes twice a year, but money became tight and we haven't been to WDW since 2008. So now, we decided to hold off on looking for that new apartment until December and splurge on our first vacation in years. We just upgraded to Animal Kingdom Lodge (we stayed here on our first trip together)!! No Savannah, but still a million steps up from CBR!

So now, it's like planning all over again! We get to finally add Jiko, a restaurant we've always wanted to go to, instead of the extremely mediocre Shutters! LOL And we have to do some research on all the great things AKL offers since we've been there! Now that Kidani has been added, has the transportation changed at all? Has there been any changes at AKL since 2008 besides Kidani and Sanaa? We are so excited, you guys!!!

BTW . .. quite a few years back, possibly in 2008 even, you were kind enough to send me a recording of your version of Grim Grinning Ghosts . . . the kids and I still listen to it from time to time, so thanks again from a bit farther upstate in NY

Congrats! You will love AKL! We stayed there in January and it was wonderful. There is the AKL lite thread on the resorts board but it is mostly a "chat" board so if you have specific questions, it's easier to just post than read through that thread.

There hasn't been anything new added since Kidani and Sanaa. If you haven't yet eaten at Sanaa, you should try to fit that in!

There are night vision goggles to use to view the savanna that's located beyond the pool and hot tub areas. That's was pretty cool to check out!

Shudders? Jiko Just dinner alone is worth being excited. Congrats on the upgrade and have a great time. We changed ours a couple of times and ended up at POR Royal Room at the request of DD.
