Well I think I have all my PS's scheduled for our 6 day trip. I planned one sit down meal each day, but I need some suggestions for in room breakfast and/or fast snack/lunch.

We are driving down, so we will have a cooler. I plan on packing bagels, PB&J for my preschoolers, single serving cereals, veggies and fruit. What are some more food items that I could take to help out $ wise. Afterall, Cindy's, Jiko's, Le Cellier, 1900 Park Fare, Kona and O'hana's will use up a good chunk of change $$$.

Well we never travel anywhere with some of the following in our backpack:

individual peanut butter cracker packs
pretzels
m&m's
goldfish
cookies

At MK we supplemented our m&m's with fruit from the Toontown fruit stand and it held us off between an early lunch and late dinner.anywhere

We usually bring parmalat milk, in the juice box size. No need to worry about it going bad.

We never get a fridge and the Parmalat works great. Just ice it down in the recycle bucket the night before, we use up the entire container if we are having cereal, don't forget paper bowls and plastic spoons.

Also Pop-Tarts. Do your kids like Fluff? PB and Fluff does not need to be refrigerated. Chex Morning Mix is good. Little Debbie makes little coffee cakes and Honeybuns individually wrapped. We like to have bananas and apples also.

My 2 year old loves breakfast bars and cereal bars. We also take individual packs of Ritz Bitz. Goldfish,Rice Krispie treats and I buy the family size packs of full size Hershey bars (our favorite), because candy is very expensive there. It's so close to Halloween, take some of your candy from that, you'll be glad you did. We also do pop-tarts, we are not big breakfast eaters, we snack and then do early lunch. My daughter took baggies of Cheerios to the park to snack on.

We also take the individual size packages of fruit (peaches, pears and mixed). Boxes of raisins, instant oatmeal, breakfast bars (DS loves the cereal and milk ones) and crackers.

We too are not breakfast people, so we eat breakfast in our room and have an early lunch.

Our musts are

2 Litre bottles of soda
Pretzels & Nutella (its a chocolate hazlenut spread that is awesome with pretzels)
poptarts, breakfast bars, granola bars
Instant tang (non spillable pitcher to make the night before and put in cooler with ice)

Though the resorts offer a coffeepot for the room, I bring my own coffee, pot, and disposable coffee cups. You can use the coffeepot to heat water for instant breakfast foods such as grits, oatmeal, etc.

And don't forget a sharp knife, forks, spoons, plates, and bowls, etc:-) We have found breakfast in your room to be a great time and money saver and can be very relaxing!

We are taking the instant "cup-a-soups" and using the water from the coffee maker for this..(or alternatively, a small hot pot)...instant hot chocolate mix as well...lots of sodium I know...but should be a good "warm-up" after hitting the pools during our upcoming December trip....
:bounce: :bounce:
Also, mini boxes of raisins and rice cakes...(great with peanut butter)....
Have a great time:D :D

I like to have trail mix. cheerios or chex, M&M's, raisins, nuts. I make it ahead and pack it, It travels real well in a gallon size ziploc. I bring the snack size ziplocks and fill them to put in the fanny pack each day. It is a nice snack to graze on during the day and is reality mess free.

I am bringing the chex mix this year. It is a nice snack and does travel well.

I have to try the nutella and pretzels. I love nutella but never know what to do with it! Thanks for the suggestion

Nutella sounds interesting. How is it sold? Like Peanut butter? And where can you buy it?

yes, it is little jars usually in the pb&j section. I have to buy pretzels!

with cooler ... Cheese sticks, yogurt, pudding, jello in those little squeeze tubes.

I just bought a case of balance bars at BJs. DD (picky) actually likes them. They have a decent amount of protein. I worry when we rely on snacks as a meal replacement that we skimp on protein. We'll have milk, too. Probably PB&J with crackers, trail mix and breakfast bars. I'm also going to bring some of the families favorite candy so we won't be tempted to spend too much on candy in the parks.
