This afternoon, I received a job offer.
I have been interviewing for about 6 months, but never got an offer. I took my last interview a week ago, and was offered the position today!
It's not my dream job - it's a clerical position at our community college (where I have worked very part-time hours for several years) - but it's a decent wage, a good working environment and (best part) has super flexible hours that can accommodate my childrens' schedule!
I have to officially accept the job tomorrow (I asked for 24 hours to just go over everything with my DH - we both agree this is a good move for our family).
Next on the to-do list is find childcare for my 5yo - who will go to half-day kindergarten. We'll only need care for this school year, so next year I'll bring home even more money in my paycheck when we're done with childcare!
I also am currently enrolled in a college program, but I will be taking a leave of absence this semester while I get used to the new job. I will start classes again in the spring.
I am nervous about a new position - especially one that is different from what I have been doing in the past, but it's a good opportunity, great resume filler, and a honest paycheck for the family.
Best part - I'll be making enough to cover our mortgage payment! So we can pay off the nasty bit of credit card debit hanging over us, tackle the Home Equity Line of Credit we have open, and move to living debt free!
