Ebookers are running an ad in today's Metro newspaper, all inclusive carhire from £65per week, I can't remember seeing a better deal for all inclusive so I'm sure there must be some date restrictions etc, but I don't have time to call right now and check the full scoop. I'll be making use of this offer though at some time today.

That sounds as though it would be too good to be true!!

I hate to rain on your parade Vernon, but its not quite as good a deal as it sounds, though it's close.

I did a reservation quote on Ebookers to compare with the booking I've already made- I'm always on the lookout for a bargain - and found that Ebookers are still slightly more expensive, for the 2 sizes of car I was interested in, than the booking I have made.

Ironically, the rental company Ebookers quoted me for was Alamo, and whaddya know, my booking is direct with Alamo !

I was looking at a 4 door Midsize, and a 4 door Fullsize.

Alamo quoted me £382 for 16 days all inc. for a midsize, £430 for a fullsize.

Ebookers wanted £ 394 and £470 for a fulsize (thats almost a 10% difference).

I recieved an email from Alamo (I think) about a promotion they are running.

To get those rates, you have to give a rate code at the bottom of the Alamo.co.uk reservations page. The box is at the bottom left, the code is 78.

I cant vouch for every rate on every car size being cheaper direct with Alamo, but it cant hurt to check.

Hope this is of help to you.

Ok , I've called Ebookers and got the full information on what the offer is. Although there is no reference to the fact this is a "package" and I've never heard of a car quote being done this way, that's a per person quote based on two people travelling, so in real terms it means £130 a week for an economy car.

As is often said if something sounds too good to be true........
:(

Shame about that!

we go in late November...............best price up to now is £319 for two weeks for an Intermediate 4-door. This is based on picking up in Tampa ( don't know if that makes any difference? ).
