Gratuity on European cruises

Hi,
I've recently booked our first cruise (Norwegian fjords from Copenhagen), and have been reading lots of TRs and forum posts to help with planning. Thank you all for the many helpful posts!

I'm wondering about gratuity on cruises sailing to/from European ports. I know you get an envelope on the last night that you can then give directly to servers, but what currency do you use when not in the USA? Eur/DKK/NOK? Or do you just pre pay and not use the envelopes?

$ same as all cruises.

If on our 7/13 cruise do join the cruise meets thread.

You can tip cash in Euros if you wish, but all shipboard accounts are USA$

I prepay, you still get envelopes with tickets to show the amount paid.

If you would like to add additional gratuities for outstanding service, you can stop by guest services to add additional monies and they will charge it to your onboard account.

Or you can just add cash to the envelope with the coupon/slip in it.

previous posters answered the question correctly already, but I just wanted to add that I was on this cruise this past summer and it was AMAZING!!!! you're going to have a wonderful adventure!
