Grande Vista Marriott vs. DVC, Which would YOU choose?

We are considering staying at the Marriott Grande Vista or at a DVC resort. We are a family of 10. Staying at a DVC resort would mean a 2 bdr vs a 3 bdr villa at the Marriott. It also would mean purchasing a week from a DVC owner not using their vacation week in 2006. Any thoughts from anyone out there would be appreciated. There is soooo much info and sooo much to consider in planning our trip, accomadations is a biggee. Thanks so much! Sheri

Ummm..........are you saying a 2 bedroom at the DVC? Because with 10 people you need a 3 bedroom, actually they call it a Grand Villa. Or are 2 out of the 10 in a crib?

I'm sure DVC is going to cost more but I've always dreamed of renting one of those. It's just so hard to justify the price, though.

I've heard a lot of good things about Marriott's. And the Grand Vista is one of the best.

the miniumum for 2-bedroom is 8 as Mom of Sleepy, Bashful and BabyDoc say

I would not go with a 3-bedroom too expensive.

I would go with 2-bedroom and a studio if at all possible.

I am cheap I would go with 3 studios

that say - are you only going to WDW? then yes, stay at a DVC resort. You can't beat their transportation system and Disney service is still one of the best.

however if you are going to US/IOA and SW - I would stay at the MGV. It would be cheaper and besides you don't want to pay Disney prices then not be at WDW.

disney resort are also great to relax it. they have a ton of stuff to do. but if you want simply to relax they are possible the best.

We own at both so I can answer any questions you may have. If you stay at Grande Vista you will have to have a car. With 10, unless there are 2 children under 3, you will need a 3 bdrm at either resort.
