Grand Villa differences...1 story vs. 2 stories

I just made ressie for the Grand Villa for the week in SSR in June. We are staying there for the 1st time in that room. I am very excited and i seen the tour of the 2 story Grand Villa at all the DVC resorts.The DVC rep told me on phone there is a 1 story villa also, which does not indicated or shown that on the DVC webiste. I thought ALL Grand villas are 2 floors in SSR, BWV and SSR. While i requested for a 2 story, but of course it not guarenteed, i may end up with a one floor...Has anyone stayed in the 1 floor?? how is it laid out??? Anyone stayed in both, which is the better villa, 1 or 2 story??

Well, we prefer the one-storey GVs at BWV, and realy aren't able to use the two-storey ones since DS is wheelchair-bound. The grand staircase is pretty cool in the two level ones, but I just found the one level GVs to have a more spacious feel. YMMV.

at BWV the 1 story is definitely better. but I haven't seem the 1 story at SSR.

the 1 story at BWV has more room (since it doesn't have steps) in the living areas.

I didn't realize SSR had a 1 story GV. They do have a 2 entrance on the 2nd story from the hallway. A 1 story would have been nice during our stay as DS is also in a wheelchair and he used the main bedroom. Our next stay we may try for a 1 story GV at BWV. Of course I don't know what our chance's will be at the 7 month mark for a december stay. Susan

Thanks for the responses!! I guess, it really don't matter to me one way or the other now...While i like the upstairs bit, but you do have a point of more room in the 1 story villa...one way, or the other, it be cool!!!!

Susan, dont lost hope...I just booked a Grand Villa only this morning for the end of June for 10 nights and i got it ...and that 6 months before!! You may have a good chance at the 7 month ahead.

OKW GV is HUGE...very spacious living area even with staircase. I have not stayed in a one level GV but, personally, I like the two floor layout for a little more privacy. Those two upstairs bedrooms were VERY quiet and seemed very far removed from the first floor. Amazing place to stay!
