I'm in the process of posting my reports about my wedding and honeymoon, but I can't help but began planning my next trip! We've decided that, since we were there for 20 days this August and we built this new house that we'd like to spend time in, we won't be going back until December of 2003. Boy...seeing it in print, now I'm not sure I can go that long!!

Anyway, assuming I can control myself, we will be going in December of 2003. Before Christmas, but late enough for the Very Merry Christmas Party. We randomly put together this package on the Disney site, no discounts or anything, just a package. It was 10 nights, lagoon view, Grand Floridian. We picked the Grand Plan package. The price was fantastic, so I think this is the way we're going to go.

My question is this: is there anywhere I can go to find a list of the restaurants included? It seems like they all are, but I was just curious about which ones I'd be paying for myself and which ones I've never been to that I might like to try since it's paid for in advance! We're going to try to book through Disney Club and go concierge and see if the price balances out. I'd just like to see the restaurants so I can plan out my priority seatings.

Also...how does that work? Do you get a voucher or something? I've never done a package since I have an AP, but the price and the amenities make it impossible to resist! Any advice on the package would be great. Thanks!!

We just confirmed our Grand Plan itineray for October. I believe ALL restaurants in the Parks and at the Resorts and at Downtown Disney are included. Restarants at the Swan and Dolphing are NOT included.
At check-in you'll get a card which will be your room key, dining card, park pass AND credit card to shop. I believe each person on the Grand Plan gets 1 appetizer, 1 entree, dessert, coffee and a non-alcoholic drink...alcohol not included in GP! :-(
When you get your bill, just give them the card.
Make sure you take advantage of all your perks!!

This is our itinerary...
Friday : one night at Wilderness Cabins.
Outdoor movie and Electric Water Parade.
Saturday : Check in at YC around 9am.
Epcot. Lunch at Coral Reef. Dinner at V&A
Sunday : AK. Breakfast at Boma. Lunch at Rainforest Cafe.
Hoop Dee Doo for dinner.
Monday : MK. Breakfast at Cape May. Lunch at Castle.
Cirque de Soleil 6pm
Tuesday : MGM. Lunch at Prime Time Cafe.
Dinner at Brown Derby then Fantasmic.
Wednesday : Epcot. Dolphins in Dept at 945am
Lunch at Tempura Kiki
Dinner at Yachtsman then Illuminations Cruise.
Thursday : Downtown Disney.
Dinner at Artist Point then MNSSHP
Friday : MK. Disney Family Magic Tour 10am
Horseback Riding 230pm
California Grill for MNSSHP fireworks.

The packages for 2003 are actually different from the past, there is no more Grand Plan. Here is a link with the package description for the Dream Maker Package - Platinum Plan, which is the Grand Plan equivalent for next year:

Platinum Plan

Happy planning! :)

When we did the Grand Plan, everywhere, and I mean EVERYWHERE we could have possibly wanted to eat on Disney Property, was included. Room service was included.

Every recreation opportunity was included, Golf, waterskiing, massages, everything.

Our room key credit card thingy was our "Grand Plan" card, we just used that as our form of 'payment' wherever we went.

From what I gathered from the "new" plan it seems to leave out the unlimited watersports. One of the most generous perks for the old grand plan was unlimited Sammy Duval water sports, jet skiing, water skiing, para-sailing , etc. I am not positive but when I looked at the new platinum plan it did not list those. That woudl be a shame because those perks were really what made it worthwhile for a family with young teens, teens etc.

josierac,

I really enjoyed viewing that trip report. Thank you for posting the link:)

I've done the Grand Plan a few times before, and in the past, the only thing that was NOT included dining wise was the Chef's table at V&A's and at Citricos. As far as recreation went, the Grand I and the Breathless weren't included...

Thank you to everyone who responded. I think that, since my husband (still strange to see myself typing THAT!) and I love to experiment with restaurants, this would be a good plan for us. We looked on the WDW site and they have it all up and running now for the 2003 packages and the prices were great. We have DC card, so I'll be checking with them first to see about discounts.

As for the watersports.....I tried the watermouse. I thought I was going to sink! Now, I'm not a heavy person and the weight limit claims to be 320 pounds, but I really felt the need to hold onto the red strap to keep afloat! I won't miss the watersports. We did Chef's Table at V&A's this year, so no great urgency to repeat next year. I can just eat in the restaurant!

I never would have thought of doing a package if it was not for this site! :p

Water sports are still included in the new Platinum Plan

Check the DC website. I just downloaded detailed info for the gold plan. We are doing that for the first time this march. I didn't print out the platinum, but I'm pretty sure spa treatments, all restaraunts including V&A, water sports, and a fireworks cruise were included. I hope that helps.

Josierac, I checked the website on the platinum plan. Is this the same thing as the grand plan? I am confused and I think the wording they use is confusing, I am most interested in Sammy Duval's recreation but it says something vague like "selected recreation". It does not plainly list all the water sports included. Do you have specific info about this. I would REALLY appreciate your advice.

I just looked up the wording:

Grand Plan (through Dec) is described "Unlimited resort recreation"

Platinum Plan (starting in 2003) states : "Unlimited golf and selected recreation".

I guess my confusion is what is their version of "selected".
